Amazon accepting cryptocurrencies I don't see that happening in a while, this ecosystem is still young and there are too many things to solve until that time I guess we will have a good chance.

This won't do anything. Can't you already use third party services for buying on Amazon in the forum here ? I'm sure I read about it here on a thread.

Anyway let us know what happens and how it goes. I guess at least we can see how interested people are to use Bitcoin on Amazon.

I have never seen evidence of those change.org type websites doing anything unless it had an insane amount of people signing. I doubt Jeff Bezos is going to follow what the website says to deliver his business. Im sure he is the type of guy that is too much of a narcissist and a control freak and he will not compromise his own business plan and will only accept bitcoin he feels like it. Hopefully with the lightning network ready we can have a viable way to get Amazon on board, for now.. it's useless.

This is going to be one of the many petitions that I signed, and that I know will go nowhere when it comes to a final outcome. Even if we get everyone who uses Bitcoin to come out and sign the petition, it's not going to change the fact that Amazon is only going to move forward with accepting another currency if they find that for a fact they'd be able to make more money off of accepting it, maybe less fees from accepting it as well. But with the current state of Bitcoin, who knows what they'd want to do.

I'll sign it, but it's not going to go anywhere.

This is the second post like this I have seen. So people clearly want more ways to spend their bitcoins.I
Not sure how much it helps but one more adds up I guess ?   Tongue

No, some people see this also as a way to help increase the price of Bitcoin. While I admit that I want the price of Bitcoin to go to $10,000 per coin, this petition is nothing but a desperate move by the OP.

I don't think so Amazon will accept bitcoin anytime soon, as much as we all like Bitcoins we keep forgetting, only Japan is allowing to be used freely, rest have not restricted it but no official word on it. Then the issue of commission that seller and Amazon will have say they sold it when prices were low, but had to pay commission when prices were high, to many points, I don't think they are equipped to handle Bitcoin but good luck with your petition who knows it may actually give them food for thought.

"http://Amazon.com" should accept "Bitcoin" and "Litecoin" cryptocurrency as payment methods as soon as possible.Because the ratio of bitcoin is rised and people are getting BTC. and investing BTC. So in future instead of paypal btc will be use.

Signed.

I do wish this petition specified that Amazon should enable bitcoin payments for their sellers, rather than just for items sold by Amazon itself.  Just as Etsy and Ebay have done.

They are still choosing to not accepting bitcoin as payment for their customer safety and sellers safety we can not blame them if they are not accepting bitcoin because they are always bring customer to the safety ways..
Bitcoin is anonymous and there is no identity of users can be seen if they registered in amazon and claim or sell product there.
Amazon area always verifying your address real name  credit card or paypal as their verified account unlike bitcoin that you do need any too much information just name and password is enough..

I didn't. First because this petition mixes bitcoin and litecoin, and I don't support that altcoin, then I'm afraid Amazon could kill BTC. We're having network congestion problems, and a huge marketplace like Amazon could only increase the problem. Let's fix it first.
(Yes, I know SegWit and BIP148 should be implemented next month, but this isn't done, yet.)

Done signed, If this happens amazon will earn a lot of $$ because there are a lot of potential buyer in Bitcoin community that are looking for a great shopping site to integrate Bitcoin to their system. They just have to look for a 3rd party site that can easily convert flat to crypto when someone is going to buy some of their product.

I don't think Amazon will accept bitcoin soon since just recently there was a thread with Alibaba accepting bitcoin but even though the vote was heavily in favour of Alibaba, they probably still won't accept like other online sites like Ebay. But maybe due to the recent media attention Bitcoin has been receiving, especially after Google invested heavily into bitcoin, they might actually accept the contract. I also don't think that Amazon is ready to handle bitcoin yet, since they probably don't even have the necessary equipment

I gladly signed. But why is the goal just 5000 sigs/supporters? Is that a significant enough number to make Amazon even consider it? Given how much volume Amazon does in sales, wouldn't a larger amount of signatures have a greater impact? Like, I don't know, like 20K at least?

Most of the high class organizations won't take these petitions seriously, it should have been at least 20-25k and it was possible actually because there are more people who wants to buy things from a giant like Amazon with Bitcoins and litecoins.
Signed the petition.

I found this on Reddit. Some Reddit users have pointed it out as fake, but the guy who posted this has a good amount of Karma so most probably he isn't trolling and also another couple of users confirmed this claim, https://gyazo.com/fad6daab8c81b4d6eba998294c78d200

https://m.imgur.com/a/zNV78

So it looks like Amazon is working on/planning to add Bitcoin maybe even Litecoin as an payment option in the nearby future.

I can't see why Amazon would bother accepting bitcoin at the moment, there are far too few users, they don't need the publicity and they don't need the cost of implementing a new payment system. It doesn't stack up for them

Here's a more effective strategy, buy your Amazon gift card with Bitcoin and forward a few screenshots of the transaction. Instant proof that people are buying on Amazon with BTC.

I really don't think we're going to see them bothering any time in the near future though.
