I just read in a Facebook group that it was a false news of ethereum creator that made the panic sell and ETH was down 40% on marketcap and value. Not sure if its true or not, anybody heard about this?

It is not strange. Ethereum has risen %4000 in the last 3 month and you say it downed %30 which one is strange you think ?

Probably those that are worried are those that did not cash out and instead held thinking Ethereum could rise 8000% or more, I was not invested in Ethereum but if I was I would have sold long time ago, and then buy when the prices got cheaper once again, it was very easy to see it was a bubble and that it was going to burst but some people get blinded by their greed.

It was really a big news of the EatH to down with this big dump because the down in the price of the eth was due to two reasons .
First reason was due to because the network chain of the ETH was in some technical problem ,so many people get scared sold them at low price .
And the second reason was of the fake news about the death of the ETH owner  .
These two things generated the fear in the heart of the ETH holders and they get panic of loss money and due to this reason they sold .
But as everything was fine , so it against cames at its own position of stable price with the improvement of network and reveal of the fake news of death of Owner of ETH .

Poloniex has not been the most consistent exchange that is for certain, they killed the trollbox but I still see Connection Error 502's a fair bit with that site.

That car incident its not really a valid reason but we can really say that it does somehow affect the price. Also to what happen on GDAX when theres a sudden dump of eth price down to 10 cents then rebound up. Im quiet frustrated on whats happening on eth ecosystem as of now and im sure those are ones of the reasons but majorly large sale of ETH and profit securing causing price decrease.

Yes, in recent days my experiences with polo is not so pleasant. Some times back they were taking more than 24 hours to process withdrawal requests and now we are facing down time of services more frequently.

There is no major reasons why Ethereum price keep fell except market prices correction in creating support and resistance pattern for taking profit or cut loses. Ethereum will raise again hope it touch $500 the next move.

To be exact the main reason behind the ethereum fall we are seeing right now is that the price it has is all based only on speculations, and also because of the many ICO's that have occurred that accepts ethereum as payment. It is common with crypto though that dumps like these happen so I know it can recover someday but I think that it will go down more this week and the next coming weeks. I might be wrong though.

Yeah the elite have sold their coins because they get good profit of it and once again they will buy the coins at cheap prices. If we look at the price graph of almost all the cryptocurrency coins almost every coin has dropped its price value after the bitcoin price fall, I think the bitcoin is the mother crypto and the rest depends on the price and market of the bitcoin. By the way the price fall is not a new experience for the cryptocurrency.

Yeah. But sometimes great coins fall hard in the ground just like what happened last year due to the hard fork. I thought that ethereum will be dead already. Waves as well is dumping hard. I can't take to look on my holdings now on that 2 coin. I'm suffering great loss right now.

I hope so Ethereum price will recovery soon, but my prediction need more time to see this happen maybe need 3 month or more but Ethereum price will recovery.

This a very good exemple of emotions on trading...When ETH is bubling up (or any other coin) mostly on puré speculation about the bright future of crypto there are several people explaining and trying to rationalize it. so its the same here. speculate up, take profits down. simple and easy

Not only ethereum, if you make a market analysis for the entire altcoins you'll see most of the coins were almost down. This is just the normal happening and nothing specific. Maybe the panic is a reason and price growth with ethereum is simply big and now this will go even lower based on the experts prediction.

We could be in the middle of a correction for bitcoin and many altcoins that have had huge gains this year. It is to be expected after all these increases. I agree that it is normal and it's also a time to start buying if you can.
