There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

No idea what you are getting at, but if you have your Bitcoin on an exchange they may often change the deposit address so consider downloading a wallet client to keep your Bitcoin safe.

To be more secure the address changes randomly and there is nothing to panic about it. This is just an advancement provided by the wallet service providers. Now user fear whether the address once got it changed has complications in receiving the bitcoins after days, which is always a NO.

I am pritty sure about that you are using mycelium wallet and if not then the problem is probably same. you will get a new address after each transaction as it helps to secure your privacy and it makes it impossible to track you. these short o wallets are called HD wallets (you can still use your old addresses for transactions) and its default in mycelium. if you want one fixed address you can goto add keys advance and generate yourself a new private key..that will be fixed or you can import your address from any other wallet using private key importing.

Most of wallets such as coinbase and blockchain change your address after every transaction. One of the reasons I know is your privacy. Because third-party cannot know your balance or your transactions history.
Note that you can reuse the previous addresses for your payments.

Why is my bitcoin address constantly changing?

Most of the web exchanges like Coinbase and XAPO have feature of changing bitcoin address to ensure that unique addresses are being provided everytime doing a transaction. Other reason are for anonymity. But you can still used your previous addresses if you want.

There is an explanation about that. I suggest to look at your wallet's website and head to their Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

For the same reason that invoice numbers change.

A bitcoin address is something you give to someone so that they can send you an agreed payment.  As long as you keep track of who you gave the bitcoin address to, and what you gave it to them for, then you can identify who paid you, and what they paid you for.

If you re-use a bitcoin address (giving it to multiple people or for multiple payment purposes), then you don't have any way to identify who a payment is from or what it is paying for.

A bitcoin address is NOT an account number.  It is simply a payment tracking number.  If you are using it as an account number, then you are doing it wrong.

Additionally by using a new address for every payment that you receive, you increase your privacy and security a bit,

Why is my bitcoin address constantly changing?
What is the name of the wallet that you use?
I have never faced with that problem on my Blockchain wallet. I also think that the wallet, that you use, makes it for safety of your founds. I don't see another reason. If everything is ok with your transactions it myst be just like I am saying.

To conserve your privacy. Although you can use the same bitcoin address as many times as you want it is never recommended to use the same address over and over again. This is done to keep your privacy safe.

Good point. By changing the unique bitcoin addresses linked to your bitcoin account, let's say an online wallet system, they prevent others from tracking ypur transactions.

I found answer one of blockchain support:

"Our wallet is built on an HD (or hierarchical deterministic) framework, which has a different method for address generation and management. Each public address your wallet generates stems from your wallet's xPub (or Extended Public Key).  Once your public address receives an incoming payment, a new address will automatically be generated and display when you click on receive.

If you use the same address each time you receive funds, it becomes easy for anyone to track your entire payment history. This method of address generation improves privacy by automatically presenting you with a new address when you’re expecting payment."

Hope it is will good for you.

It is quite common for your bitcoin address to change constantly if you are using an online wallet, I experienced that too in the past when I am using Coinbase, there is nothing to be worried about. I believe one of the reason for online wallets to have this function is due to privacy reason. By the way, you could still reuse your old bitcoin address to receive bitcoins into the wallet.

It is normal for most HD wallets. This is done for privacy reasons so it won't be easy for anyone to just track all your transaction histories. Nevertheless, using the old wallet address will not stop you from receiving your assets as it is already tied to your wallet.

The confusion is here: "my address". You don't have an address, you have a wallet, and the wallet generates addresses that are used to receive bitcoins.

If you don't like that then use another wallet which doesn't do that.

The address that I've created on day 1 when I was introduced to bitcoins is still the same address that I use today for all my btc actions.

I suppose you're using XAPO or Coinbase. You might consider switching to something like electrum or mycelium or blockchain.info

Why is my bitcoin address constantly changing?
It would change if you do press the feature on receiving bitcoin. There are wallets that do have this kind of changing address for the sole purpose of privacy. Lets make an example on coinbase, I'm using it and I do have wallet address that I do create later on when I do make transactions on receiving bitcoin you can able to see another wallet address but still it would surely credit on your wallet if you do make transfers.

Blockchain.info also has the same features, but this shouldn't be a concern as your old address is still able to receive and functioning like it should. They are doing that so you'll have more security because more addresses makes its harder for you to be hacked, as far as I understood their explanation.
