Can someone verify this?

It turns out not so much that they were going to do their new chain in the future or have someone else to in order to deploy new tech.  But they were using tech from an existing chain.

bitshares was also the foundation for steem. soo... they are also taking bitshares for EOS. EOS is also DPOS and they want to have a lot of shiny features of steem and bitshares in EOS - so why rewrite all the code if you already have a solid and working codebase? x)

its not a scam.

cheers

I believe at least half of the current coins on market are just re-branded version of other successful coins. But some of them still may have decent development and community support.

It's the pure greed, and laziness of people to do some research what they are buying into.
They deserve to get burned!
However even this scammy ICO will probably make huge returns before it crashes.

This is nothing to laugh about. The fact that naive people are loosing their money aside, this is exactly what will make SEC regulate those things.
But perhaps that's a good thing after all. This sort of scam is otherwise only likely to increase.

The only SCAM here is the original poster who didn't bother to actually perform a DIFF on the codebase.

Even a cursory examination of the code will show you there is VERY LITTLE left of the original bitshares code.

Yes the file names and directory structure is similar, that is because the design pattern is similar.
