Good launch but i would NEVER trade LTC or BTC for this coin

The trading market is clearly fake.  Guys who jumped on board with their CPU's in the first hours are trading between themselves to try to lure in greater fools.

YAC has no intrinsic value particularly given the low difficulty and the fact that initial CPU miners, first minutes, were lucky enough to get - what - a million coins?

I would not buy a YAC at any price

There's 1,225,285 coins total right now, 8 hours after launch. Lucky in this case means a few thousands -- you could go to BTC-e and get the same amount in CNCs, FTCs or PPCs right now for 40 BTC.

I gotta agree with the OP. From now on if I'm not on a coin at the very ground level we're going to have a do-over. If there's anything I've learned from life it's that it's "fair", so there's no reason a coin launch shouldn't be.

The bigger concern is onset GPU miners and the fact that the concept behind it makes no sense (as soon as N>1024, GPU will have a huge advantage because memory bandwidth GPU >> memory bandwidth DDR3).  That, and that at the max N factor it'll take years for the blockchain to even download and confirm.

Just rename the coin to Orphan coin and that’s it.

Yacoin fails in many ways.
First of all, it was released immediately and withount any announce - "1.5 days later" with technical premine - so, many of us just hadn't time to react.
Initial difficulty is way too low, blockcreation speed is abnormal and all that cause unaffordable amount of stales and orphans.
I insist that it should be restarted with clear launch date announce (at least 12 hours in advance), initial difficulty should be adjusted.

If none of proposed actions will be done, it should be understood as one of the scamiest scamcoins.

P.S: Fair rules will make this currency and its holders to prosper, else it will be forgoteen very fast.

P.P.S:
but it's the most fair altcoin launch so far
agree, though...
