I've downloaded a few different wallets for various coins. The clients all have a mining tab. Now I know solo cpu mining is veryyyyy slow. But what I want to know is can I just choose solo mining and hit start mining or do I need to do some configuring. I'm not worried about the efficiency. I just want to see if I can mine anything on one of the newer coins. I synced the wallet for feathercoin, chose solo mining and clicked start mining. In the box below it shows solo mining started but nothing else, nothing about threads or speed or anything else.

You should mine on a rig setup just to mine not a regular pc.

I realize that. But it still doesn't answer my original question.

you can do solo mining to coins with low difficulty...high ones go to pools...

I don't have a signature because I'm not a customary person.

Dunno.

I wonder if you can just use another pc, solely for that, and don't do anyting else with it.
