Hi all,

I'm getting the infamous message from cgminer

WARNING: Number of OpenCL and ADL devices did not match!

I'm running a PC with 2x 7970, and no monitor which I'm pretty sure is the reason I'm getting the message.

Additionally, the hash rates have dropped, I had 1x 7970 and it ran at 700mhash, now two of them in crossfire and they do ~1.150Ghash.

Any thoughts?

Not sure the no monitors is the problem, lots of users run with no monitors.  I did with my 5870 and 5830 when I used to run Windows, and still do even though I am running BAMT now.

Unless things have changed, running them as crossfire is actually worse than running them individually.  That could be why you are getting lower than expected hash rates.

Intersting...

I'll get rid of the crossfire cable and see what happens...

What are your parameters you are setting, or post your config file.

So unfortunately turns out to be a need for a null plug...

I plugged in my monitor, started cgminer, and problems gone.
Restarted without monitor, problem's there.

Yes, looking over things thats probably the problem.  The GPUs I use/the OS that I use does not require monitors to be plugged in, but yours does.  So you will either need to keep it plugged in, or get a dummy plug for it.

...or start windows with a monitor and then unplug it.  Wink

It really depends on the drivers, more so the OS. When i first started with my 5870, it required to be plugged in.  Then somewhere along the way, around driver 11.9 I think, it stopped needing it.

It's simple. Windows needs a monitor attached to the card to work with it. You just need a dummy plug (put 4  70 - 75 Ohm resistors in the holes of a VGA begining from left to right connecting row 1 and 2).

It's not that it doesn't work...It's just cgminer getting all messed up and the cards not getting overclocked (that's why I was getting 550 instead of 700 per 7970)
