80W is about right.

From the BFl FAQ:
Quote
Q: How long will the full price trade in program last?
A: For our FPGA customers the trade-in program is scheduled to last until 1 June 2013.
This is also expected to be delayed, as they have not shipped yet.

These are all rev 3 units, all hash at 832 MH/s or higher.

Will ship 3 day continental US.

10 BTC per single, if someone takes all 20 I will apply a discount.

Thanks!

It sounds very interesting, but I do not think that such a hash rate is worth 10 BTC. Perhaps it is worth 1 BTC, but even that is not clear, with the ASICs raising difficulty.

At the current exchange rate, they are worth about 5.5btc in trade-in value alone.

I have no expectation of them paying for themselves, btw.

But difficulty is increasing exponentially.

If these machines are such a good deal, what I do not get is why owners do not keep them to themselves, and get the profits?

I don't see where anyone here has tried to say that.

I agree with you that 10btc is a premium price.

I paid a premium for the "Stretch Armstrong" I got off ebay too.   Wink  He doesn't even hash at all!   Tongue

**EDIT:  Most importantly, you'd have a hard time finding a more reputable seller than yochdog.  Peace of mind that the seller is not out to scam you - priceless.

Not to threadcrap but do you know where or how to get order with trade-in still?  I went to their website but couldn't find where you could actually buy with a trade-in, only saw their faq mentioning it was extended.  Of course there has been no reply to the 2 emails I sent inquiring.

I was considering buying several fpgas, but with the lack of response from BFL to my requests to upgrade fpgas, it's almost as if BFL is trying to put up every possible roadblock to prevent anyone from upgrading at this point.  A few months ago, fpgas could be had on this forum for simply the trade-in cost.  Months ago I guess it'd make sense since you could mine a bit before getting the ASIC.  But with diff over 10mill you are lucky if you are getting .03btc/day right now and that will most certainly go down AT LEAST 10% every diff recalc.

From the FAQ, "For our FPGA customers the trade-in program is scheduled to last until 1 June 2013." So, about 17 days. Tight timing.

And I still can't actually find anyway on the site to DO the trade in, so not sure this is actually correct anyway.

I received the FPGAs today.  They were very well packaged (each piece was individually bubble-wrapped and taped, then put into box of peanuts) and arrived in perfect shape.  Shipping was 3 days exactly.

They are both humming away.   Grin

Thanks again, yochdog!

Edit:  Thanks for the molex power leads too!

My pleasure!  I had forgot about the Molex leads.....figured that was a nice bonus for the buyers!

Bump......have 8 of these left!

If by discount, do you mean 4BTC each, I'm in.  Only if I get an answer within the next few hours so I can place an upgrade order.  Grin

Wouldnt three of the new USB miners mine better, be much cheaper, and use less power than these?

Seems like a LOT of money.

The trade-in value is where most of the price comes from......the mining until trade-in is a bonus.

But isnt the trade in value like $600? Pay 1300 for 600? And doesn't it end in like 5 hours?

could you send 'mine' directly to butterfly labs? if we agree on the price. I'm in EU and I have the upgrade purchased (trade-in) and rather buy another one instead of shipping mine from here to US. also I'd like to keep mine for the fpga chips and potential bitstream changes and as an expensive memorabilia.

please let me know your current ask.
and if you could keep it running for me until I need to send it to bfl. : ))

You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.

Yochdog, your thread is making me feel like an asshole for offering you a very serious 10 BTC (total) for 5 singles.

At current prices and difficulty it will still take me over 3 months to achieve 100% ROI, and as you and I know, ASICs are only beginning to reach consumers.

10 BTC for 5 singles is my offer.

The one without the PSU?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't having the power adapter a requirement of the trade-in program?

Yep, you were right, the FPGA trade-in program is done. I did not get a chance to talk to a real person but that's the message I got from their automated voice system. When I pressed 0 to speak with a representative I got a busy tone so I guess the reps are mighty busy even at 9:10 AM EST.
