Doubt that when it's a fiat price and they still have gobs of the stuff they will be essentially giving away.

The XRP price is driven entirely by speculation at this point. You don't need that much to open an account, or perform transactions.

I sold around 5k in xrp for 0.4btc yesterday around 40USD for those that still have a hard time in translation.  The way I see it.  If someone is willing to pay that.  Good on them.  If they end up with more hella good on them.  But for me I posted an address in a thread waited a few days.  Found a buyer and made a few bucks.  I don't feel scammed nor did the buyer. XRP for the win. .. atleast in some cases

Just cashed out about $500 in ripples on the Bitstamp/ripple exchange....not bad for just posting my address in the giveaway thread.

Whoever paid the $500...good luck to you...but I'll be taking my cash now thx

Thought it might be a good time to cash them in when I read about the Ripple market capitalization being something like $2billion...before Opencoin try and cash in that $2Billion...

P.S. to the OP just because Bitstamp are "selling" ripples for 50XRP = $1...that is not the actual market price...which is actually more like 73XRP = $1 at the moment.
