I'm in the process of creating a portal outside of this form to provide you with better ways to keep your project in sync, track the users who are ordering or want to preorder and provide the ability for users to ask questions or keep tags, or be alerted.

I would like to combine the current set of projects going on, its a bit of a mess to keep track of progress here at times.

thoughts would be:

  • News Section: Allows project owners to post news, screen shots
  • Projects Page: custom area for the diy projects and their owners, comments, groups posting, notification sign up
  • Projects Page: custom form to allow users to subscribe or preorder with their wallet address
  • custom admin area where project owners can track the list or orders, preorders, whos paid
  • bitcoin wallet address verification, along with bitcoin signed message to verify that its u
  • etc

just spit balling to give a cleaner area for diy projects to live, not wanting to replace this but provide a better method of showcasing work, order, preorders, verifying bitcoin address data.. allowing users to subscribe, mailing lists that project owners can send out to those who subscribe etc..

thoughts?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

That would be great, but this forum sort of provides for all of that already. Your portal would have to do something this forum doesn't, or provide the same information in an easier way. I just watch the threads here.

I like you watch the threads but look at it this way..

If your creating a diy project, its not easy to keep track of everyone that might want to order, aka get on a pre order list, submit your donation, get validation back.. its an easier way for the main people doing the work to keep track of things.  For the end user its also a cleaner area and also ability to keep track of your order that you put in with sed user.

just throwing it out..

I'm not planning on replacing github where the projects are hosted, just thinking of providing a better location for diy project developers to track their orders, allow users to see what they have ordered and such.

So for example on this site,

Lots of threads about group buys.. and the policy behind them, someone as a group buy person you then you send your btc to a user and hope he gets it, and replies to you, some times you have to sign your message etc, then that person has to keep track of all the owners who bought it, what batch etc..

I'm offering up a way that users can register, diy or people who want to set up group buy can monitor, have the system keep track of all oders for them, provide feedback to those users easily, send out news letters of updates, info progress..

sure this board kinda works, but I'm trying to remember how many asic chips did I order from what group, and what diy project am I having my stuff shipped to.. whats the stats of all of that..

so just trying to provide a better interface for both the project or group projects and the users who want the product.

Was thinking of doing the same after seeing some of the group buy spreadsheets Wink I think it would be good to create a shopping platform that has a built-in bitcoin payment module. Maybe there is something out there already?
