Michael Richo waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty in a Connecticut courthouse on June 27 for charges related to operating a dark web phishing scheme. He pleaded guilty to money laundering charges and charges of fraud. Richo was originally arrested on October 5, 2016, in connection with the crimes. In the scheme, Richo stole user logon credentials and siphoned bitcoin from multiple dark web accounts. The amount was estimated to be worth about $365,000 in bitcoin. A bad ass that has some balls. That's a lot he stole.

Well my personally say on all of this is that the man is doing this in an attempt to save his own ass, when you go ahead and plea guility that pretty much means you're going to try to get out of this in some sort of way shape or form. Probably, this was this guys first offense so he's going to get a lesser charge then someone who's being doing this sort of thing over and over-- he's really trying to salavage whatever he's going to have left in his life. My say is good try bud, good try.

https://news.bitcoin.com/how-michael-richo-stole-bitcoins-via-imposter-exchange-sites-and-dark-web-phishing-schemes/

" Richo then sold the stolen bitcoins to others in exchange for U.S. currency, which was deposited into bank accounts that Richo controlled or was provided to him through Green Dot Cards, Western Union transfers, and MoneyGram transfers.”

That was his mistake..... linking the stolen coins to bank accounts under his name.  Roll Eyes ... I am not saying that it was good that this has happened,

just highlighting his mistake. Most people who steal coins, do not convert to Fiat currencies.  Roll Eyes

Lol, who knows he did but maybe got phished eventually. After all the people who got their bitcoins stolen could trace the recipient address and the transaction as a whole.

Yes, he looks like a good hacker, but he was careless in hiding his identity. Such incidents were taking place over different parts of the world. He has got connection with the darkweb, which has made him under trap. Recently in India a hacker stole more than $100000 worth of bitcoin but none were able to track him.

He was not a good hacker. He wasn't even a hacker.
He was just an impostor and a pos sending phishing emails.

And if you make deals on the darknet and you still get scammed by a phishing website then ... you deserve it.
Tor websites should have a second requirement for usage based on IQ.
