I'm perhaps one of the least knowledgeable in this area, but did you read the article? If we can trust the integrity of the reporting and believe that at least half of what was reported was true, I really don't see how Wright is in any way supportive of Satoshi's vision (I assume you refer to the whitepaper). The only way this could possibly be argued for is if one took the second last line of that whitepaper (voting with CPU power) at total face value and removed all context.
