At the moment, cybersports at the stage of development
There are many tournaments in different disciplines
They have very large prize pools
For example Dota:
The International 2012 - the prize fund of the tournament was $ 1,600,000.
The International 2013 - the prize fund of the tournament was $ 1,600,000.
The International 2014 - the prize fund of the tournament was $ 10 931 105
The International 2015 - the prize fund of the tournament was $ 16 829 613
The International 2016 - the prize fund of the tournament was $ 20 070 000
The International 2017 - already is 20,000,000 and before the tournament even more month.
Also tournaments are held in many other disciplines:CS GO,HS,LOL,FIFA,WOT...
Do you think it will develop further?
How fast ?
And how does it affect adolescents?

For teens it's good and bad
They do not need to forget about life and about studying
But at the same time he gives them a lot

E-sports is not a sport, because it's a phenomenon. This is a product of the visual era - the era of observers, which is easier to perceive the surrounding eyes: through a TV, monitor, tablet or gadget, rather than feelings or personal experience. Previously, people knew the world tactile: to study the space, it was necessary to send the cosmonaut there. To explore the cosmos now, it is enough to ask the barman for a password from Wi-Fi.

ESports is ideally suited to visuals: CS: GO allows you to shoot from Kalash, and for this you do not need to collect a team for paintball (by the way, also a recognized sport in Russia) and buy expensive accoutrements. FIFA and PES open the opportunity to kick the ball without leaving the yard and not spending on spikes. It is very symbolic - in the era of avatars athletes are not cut for themselves, but for avatars. Control is not the body, but pixels.

Cybersport has a brake - it's a discipline in the fantasy genre. How can you call the athletes of adults who use magic power, play for trolls, goblins and other ghouls?

The victory of e-sports over traditional sports is predicted for about 10 years, but it's not there. Also will not be. Whichever competition is transferred to the virtual world, the choice between the original and the replica is always obvious.

Looks all the time spent by kids here in my country playing DOTA in cramped net cafes might actually have a use now. I mean, they usually just played it for fun (well, some do bet). Now they can actually earn big time out of it.

The victory of e-sports over traditional sports is predicted for about 10 years, but it's not there. Also will not be. Whichever competition is transferred to the virtual world, the choice between the original and the replica is always obvious.

I don't see people casting spells in real life or blast tanks just for fun. E-sports are mostly about these sort of games, things you probably wouldn't be able to do in the real world.

E-sports is not a sport, because it's a phenomenon.

And what about poker?  People do consider that sport now. Definitely don't require extensive physical training but also requires discipline and skill.

Sports is a rather broad term. Heck, there is this thing called memory sport, where the participants go through various tasks such as memorizing an entire deck of cards, etc.

Cybersport - a contest of people with each other, in computer games! Many people believe that sport is a rivalry of people requiring the application of physical efforts. Yes, but sport is not only solid marathons and brutal boxing fights, but also training your intellectual abilities.

Russia became the first country in the world to officially recognize e-sports as a sport. For the first time it happened in 2001, but after the changes in the governing sports structures of our country the procedure had to be repeated. In 2004, eSports was again recognized, but two years later it was excluded from the All-Russian Register of Sports. Nevertheless, this does not prevent Russian cybersportsmen from successfully performing at various national and international tournaments. From time to time our athletes win or win prizes at various competitions. Unfortunately, their names are usually unknown, because in the world of computer games it is customary to have game nicknames. However, it is reliably known that Russia in the world of computer games is far from being on the last line, even if we are not so keen on virtual reality as Koreans, Germans or Americans.

Nowadays, the vast majority of computer games provide an opportunity to compete with friends on the local network or via the Internet, however, in large tournaments, only those games are usually represented that have proved the necessary balance for many years

Professional fighter MMA Demetrius "Mighty Mouse" Johnson in an interview with the portal Thescoreesports.com spoke about his attitude to e-sports.

"I communicated with other fighters - they really do not know what it is. But I believe that the future is for e-sports. I would be happy to help build an e-sports team and draw attention to the industry, "Johnson said.

I think it will develop further, as we know E-sports is becoming popular nowadays. And also there are a lot of online gamers everywhere. Some big companies sponsor or invest in E-sports tournament. So, I guess cybersports is the new trend.

I am not sure if we can call them "sports".I play video games since I can remember myself. However I find excessive the fact that we are stuck with video games and give them such an importance.Videogames are somthing that you can pass your leisure time enjoyably, but don't overdo it because they might be harmful for your selves.

Yes of course it will develop rapidly especially in Asia, because cybersports' roots are from Asia and it defines cybersport as a worldwide phenomenon. The income of cybersportmen is significantly increasing year by year, and there are every time more and more people who follow this tendency.
