Thanks for posting in the correct scam report format, it's a rare thing to see these days.

You're lucky that you have paid via paypal. Your best bet right now is to go to paypal resolution center and file a dispute against the seller. As far as i can tell right now, it was sent as goods and services which means that you're able to charge it back(hopefully). Paypal usually sides with the buyer. Do this as quick as you can, and provide all proof like you did here.

Take this as a lesson. Do NOT send first to newbies without any reputation, in fact, do NOT send first to anyone. Make sure you use a reputable escrow that has held at least 500-1000 BTC before, and has publicly identified their ID and/or have held forum funds so that their dox is known to forum administrators.

I've left the user a negative rating, but that isn't really effective as the account is a newbie and thus they can just create a new account.

Do NOT send first to newbies without any reputation, in fact, do NOT send first to anyone.
*Almost anyone*; but this.

Thanks all, unfortunately I sent funds as specified in his pm, so no chance of recovery. Hopefully others can learn from my mistake and steer clear of this guy or any like him.

You said that you've used PayPal to send the funds. Contact PayPal and recover your money. PayPal is a reversible payment method, so this should not be all too difficult.

Not reversible when sent as "friends and family" instead of "goods & services". That's on me.

Are you absolutely sure about that?  It's kind of taken as a fact that PayPal is reversible no matter how it's sent.  I've never charged back, but I'm fairly certain you can do it with f&f.  If you're not sure then you should at least give it a shot.  You have nothing to lose.

I have heard from other members here that even "friends and family" is reversible, you just have to contact paypal and tell them that someone else used your account and you didn't know that. I don't know if this works as I never do charge backs but I have seen people charging back with paypal friends and family. Unfortunately there is no chance of recovering back if the person who sold you the scam did get a stealth paypal or whatever that is from the hidden internet, a lot of shit going on there and we have to be extremely careful.

Thanks all, I've managed to open a paypal case, we'll see how far it gets.

Uh, did you open a dispute for unauthorised transaction? If yes then it is probably not going to rule in your favour, because paypal is going to look into your logs and see that the IP addresses haven't changed, location haven't changed etc.

Thanks all, unfortunately I sent funds as specified in his pm, so no chance of recovery. Hopefully others can learn from my mistake and steer clear of this guy or any like him.

Only if your transaction was unauthorised, then you have 60 days i think to charge back. But then, if the transaction was indeed sent by you and as friends and family then pretty sure you can't charge it back, or at least that's how paypal says it. There is always a risk as a seller though, no matter what. Hacked accounts are common af with pp.

Sorry for your loss. I suggest you not to buy anything from newbie if he don't have any trust feedback also I noticed this user: Matheys is selling the product in self moderated thread so even I tried to warn the public about him he deleted my post instantly.

The general rule is: if the seller is a newbie, with no reputation, with no topic nor trust feedback, offering no vouches and/or selling from a locked or self-moderated topic and unwilling to go first or use escrow => AVOID.

Also avoid anyone calling himself "we", it's just an early teenager desperately trying to pretend he - a little boy - is some kind of legitimate business entity, truly laughable.

Always check the trust feedback first and make sure that you have enabled "Show untrusted feedback by default" in "Profile / Forum Profile Information".
