You hacked into MT GOX db... GOT 5000 BTC... where are you going to cash them out? Tradehill? britcoin? They are locked right now...Want to know why?? Because THEY use MT GOX for cashing out your trades as well. MT GOX is the BIGGEST RESERVE of BTC.

You IDIOT messed it up for everyone. Great Job Ass!

Oh hello, you must be new to this whole Bitcoin thing. Let me tell you how it works:

Step 1: GTFO
Step 2: Learn how Bitcoin and its exchanges really work.
Step 3: Come back when you're past your teens, we're completeely stocked up with those here.

Actually, I am positive I am one of the oldest users of bitcoin. Helped Satoshi take this off the ground.

I think this is a very prejudice comment to make. I'm 18 myself, and I don't go around making posts like this.

then why dont you know that the robber - if successful - can launder his bitcoins without MtGox?

just sell and buy on another exchange. exchange one BTC for another. go back to MtGox for withdrawal.

Those other exchangers you talk about, only exist because of MT GOX, they exchange only trusting that big mt gox is there to back up their exchange. Like bank of america and the FED. Its takes huge balls to start exchanging coins for real HARD cash, MT gox took the lead, other followed trusting. do you understand?

so?
you seem to imply that the robber cant get away with shit because MtGox is the only way to cash out and they know which BTC got stolen.
not the case.

How does it equate to the Fed printing out hundreds of billions of dollars with nothing backing it?

It would be interesting to see the attacker(s) in the gallows though.  I assume if they were able to pull this off that they're also capable of successfully masking their location & identity.
