Was 2FA enabled? Some people are lazy when it comes to securing their accounts and when funds are stolen, they lay all the blame on exchanges.

How does people gets access to other peoples account in the first place? Isn't it somehow poloniex responsibility to make sure that the account details they hold will not be leak go anyone else but at these days it seem like it did. There are several poloniex reports like this and the accounts owners were not to blame because they didn't do nothing to get their account login detail.

people have a habit of using the same email and passwords over and over and over and there have been many hacks before. so the email and password combinations are already out in the open. YOU are responsible of doing as much as possible to prevent a hack in the first place.... polo should/could also do a lot more by detecting suspicious (like detecting somebody suddenly logs in from the other side of the world) but still.... ENABLE 2FA FOR THE LOVE OF UR CRYPTO'S

You can't blame users for not using 2FA, Poloniex team should have made it mandatory for all users to activate it. This is getting common on most exchanges now that is why you must keep your tokens yourself in your wallet

I'm not especially a Polo supporter but isn't it a bit too easy to blame Polo everytime an account is hacked?
Many people are installing tens of wallet from shit coins, clicking dodgy links, opening attachment on their email, etc, etc.
Lots of people have no idea what kind of shit they put in their own computer. Then they cry and blame Polo!

Having 2FA is by far the most important thing for anything that could contain money or sensitive information, you can't really blame it on anyone else. And yes, always transfer your tokens to your private wallet, they're not yours until they're in your own wallet.

The account was hacked because of the victim's careless or because polo lack of security?

I guess the hacked victims are sharing their APIs from unknown and untrusted apps.

Where did you get this information from?

If it’s legit then that’s pretty bad for Poloniex since they have already noticed a few users leaving their website and going to somewhere else to trade because of the Poloniex Trollbox being removed on there.

I wouldn’t store any Bitcoins on an popular Altcoin trading exchange anyhow because those things usually have some insider trading or insider hacking going on in there since there’s so many coins stored in one place.

Avoid downloading wallet softwares from newly hatched coins from their airdrops. Some of them are evil scammers..Trojan implanted in their software wallets are programmed to hack bitcoin clients installed, programmed to hack browser password inputs.
