Hi guys,

it's impossible for internet to be decentralized unless you want every single household to own a server

Any computer you are running and connect it to the internet can both be a server and a client. That is what creates a peer to peer network and that is how bitcoin, or cryptocurrencies in general, torrent and other p2p networks work.

As for "future of web" it can be decentralized actually.
I am not familiar with Namecoin but I think it is related to this, you can check it out.
There is also a cool project for hosting a website completely p2p and using bitcoin blockchain. https://github.com/elendirx/web2web

you can click here to see bitcoin paper using the above project.
If it didn't show up it is because there isn't any seeds Wink

Read more about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1959694.0

Hi guys,

it's impossible for internet to be decentralized unless you want every single household to own a server

Well frankly speaking you got a point there since it is hard to connect to the world wide web on your own without connecting to servers. In our country we have to pay the companies that gives us internet connection and without them as internet servers we will not be able to connect to the world wide web and making our own system without them to connect to the web is hard due to financial and technical problems.  But in the future there will no decentralized web since the government will not allow it. Decentralization will remain as a concept in the internet and nothing in this world will be decentralized. That includes cryptocurrency and bitcoin. Even if bitcoin will be accepted by countries it will still be under the rules and policies of the governing state.

That's really a much risky effort to make ithe entire web go decentralized. Possibly more bad will happen through the web and the crime rate increases. In my view the present systemis good enough to work in a better way. The technology development will help us grow in the right track. Already for anonymous usage of web we have got several applications.

with a mesh network you can have a decentralized internet, or with a bitcoin-esque sort of altcoin, that other than a payment system function as browser, have a integrated browser in the client, can be seen as a decentralized netowkr

but still with ISP you are not completely free, it's still considered centralized, isn't ETH doing stuff like that with their decentralized platform?

Fellows, instead focus on the device itself we really should give more attention to the data itself ...
I would bet all my btc on these keywords:://networking theory//Content centric networking//Information-centric networking

I will try to write down some of my thoughts relating networking and what we are learning about bitcoin economy gears (solution for classic computation problem, the byzantine general problem)  Tongue

The web is already decentralized in a way. I mean there is no single server that stores “the whole web”. It is already distributed. So, in my opinion it’s better to say that decentralization is the future of technology. Everyone sees the success of blockchain. And now almost every respectable company, organization or startup somehow makes use of it.

I don't think the web can be decentralized because of its nature. You already mentioned about it.
