I say do not invest on overpriced ICO. I have invested in some ICO and it is going well for me. As long as it have good devs and low price, I am willing to take the risk. But I won't go long term on it. As long as I get x5 or x10 of my initial capital, I am out.

Big risk big reward. I don't think Icos are all scams. If you get burnt by one bow you believe them all to be the same ? If one man wrongs you do you now believe every man you meet shsoo do the same ? No !! You must think you must calculate and decide and take time and be patient. Sometimes it's better to wait the ico out and buy in later. Other times it's just simply better to begin mining asap. It would depends on the coin and it's features.

ICO = high risk but high reward

If you do proper research and spread your investments to many ICO then your risk is minimized but you can still get great rewards.

Risky, yes, of course! But to generalize ICO as scam is too much. I don't think ICOs are scam. There are some of them of course. We cannot deny that as there are developers who are only after money and not really putting their heart to their project.

But it needs your prudence, diligence, hardwork, and so on to get the right ones. There are legit ones of course. And it's really worth it.

Take a look at my signature, do some research, and you will believe that not all ICOs are scam.

Put the legwork in, look at the founders, the business plan, market cap, issuance, terms and most of all; see if they have a viable product before investing. Look at the multiple. For instance, I saw a filestorage ICO that had a market cap of high 100's of millions if not billions, no product to show for. Highly competitive market, no track record in the sphere for the founders. I stayed out. Look for track record, viability, a product demo, and the financials. If they can't produce good financials, a well thought out business plan and pro forma, then they are not even competent to run a multi-million dollar business.

That said: ICO's is an exciting vehicle indeed and I see that there will be companies that can truly make it. Point in case; etherum for instance that raised their ICO at 30 cents per eth. Growth of 1000x in a few years. Its the same as during the dot com boom. Many crap companies will be seeking capital, but its about finding the ones that make it big. The guys that invested in Amazon in late 90's would be happy today, the guys that invested in Earthlink; not so much.

I have make dollars from ICO investment. Today I sold my silvercoin with great profit and sold lisk last time with much profit. If you can analysis most ICO very well you should be in profit every time and not loses. Every project worth investing in after proper analysis, many people loses money because they invest in scam project which can be easily detect by wise view on the project.

as i know, ICO is one of many way to collect more bitcoin, but remember choose a good project if you want to make investments on ICO 
the most important is never invest your money that you can't afford to lose

That is how people should invest. Investing money that they can’t afford will only cause issues that they don’t want to have when they decide to get their money out. In most cases the people that invest the money that they can’t afford to lose end up losing a portion of their money when they decide to get their money back and when they get their money back the coin receives a huge pump that they will later regret.

It’s kind of hard to invest in ICO’s during 2017 since there’s scams almost every day in this forum. The right amount of researching and asking the right questions before investing into a coin should give the person a much more comfortable feeling when they decide to put their money in it.

It’s also funny to see an ICO get up to a million dollars in funding or more when people don’t know what the project is about.

What I feel as a scam in ICO is when a ICO asks thousands of millions for just an idea. Not every ICO are scam but some of them are risky to invest. More the risk is important, more the profits (or the loss) can be important.

In fact a coin released without an ICO can be a scam too, I've already seen that, so scam are not only made with ICOs.

Completely agree with the topic! Because in the first place there are a lot of scammers in the ICO, in the second - I have not yet seen a single ICO who would have fulfilled their plan. To collect money is one thing, but it's another thing to use it wisely.

Well it's just a matter of reseaeching the ico that have most potential and teams that are actively coordinating with their project. There are a lot successful ico now tgat are listed in exchanges like in bittrex, many of those tokens or coin now started in having a ico and they are successful now . We just need to do more research each time

That might be how it is now and that is how it was back then. It's really a gamble to see what ICO is going to do well because some of the ICO don't really make it past the launch period.

I know of Icobid, mostly everyone thought that it was going to be a good coin to invest in though the price of it went down so fast that so many people got angry.

I don’t think that ICO are scam or risky. ICO always turn out be best investment if the have already invested into big advertising platforms. That makes us sure about there legitimacy. I am completely into ICO now and earn big from it only. Atlas ICO won’t let you down like the coins which are rusting out in the market with zero investment value.

I think ico is the best way to invest just how you choose a good ico and dev don't mess with the project, make sure ico is using escrow services so you don't afraid with your investment
