Has anyone ever tried medicine to control impulsive gambling?

That is just a reapoff medicine for gambling! Why would some one trust these medicines to control their bad gambling habits
when all you need is self control

Some people are not strong enough, not everyone has strong will and character. That is why we have all kinds of medicine working on our brain, to make us feel clearer or dull our senses.
Still, I have no idea if there is any kind of pharmacological cure for fur psychical addiction symptoms of gambling. I imagine that certain general anti depressants might help.
However using any kind of drug to support your fight with addition seems counterproductive for me and is kinda last resort...

maybe there are any general anti depressants gambler consume to reduce stress because of losing in gambling but if we consume this medicine for a long time, i think its not good for our health. in the end, we can be dependency with the medicine and without medicine, we can release our stress. so i think its better we know when we should stop playing gambling and leave the place than continue to pursuit our loss.

If there is an existing medicine that will help gambler control themselves then we will not see addicted gamblers who ruin their lives, I think it does not really exist because addiction is a disease in our mind where we think the world will end if we cannot gamble. That is too much dependence on gambling which is not good already because we know that the more we gamble the more our chances lessen which could result to a sure loses in the end.

I doubt that it's going to work like that. It's all in a person's attitude and mindset that can allow him to negate his impulsive gambling. Therapy may be a big help along with other psychiatric treatments butbi don't think an actual.medicine is needed or if there even are such medicines like that

what your said its true, maybe they use that medicine to stay focus and avoid to get stress too much as we can see if a gambler losing much of money, he become anger,sad and other negative feeling. and he consume that medicine to calm down his self so he can continue to playing gambling. but if this is what happen, then that person really need other people to help him to solve his problem.

Whether anti-depressants or not, I believe that would be for someone who is going through rehabilitation as a result of gambling but aside that, I don't see why any one should not be able to control himself/herself in gambling. For me, I have not met someone who uses medicine to curb gambling neither do I as well. I go with gambling to win and when I lose I move on. Its a purposeful adventure to me.

Why to med when you can avoid playing gambling just disciplining your self to control your emotion in gambling don't play too much and ty to find another hobby to make your self busy.

I agree, discipline is really what would prevent any person from gambling and not sort of medicine.
No medicine will be effective against a man who is in the path of his own destruction.
Self control will be your best friend to avoid impulsive gambling.

I never have and never would use any medicine to control impulsive gambling.

I've trained myself over the years to be a more deliberate and sensible gambler - which isn't hard for anybody to do even for impulsive/compulsive gamblers, especially with all the gambling resources that are available out there.
