First I dont know if this is the right place to put this question. I created this one here because some must know the answers to my questions because some legendary that I know more likely to say is a creator of a campaign
I would likely to ask if someone wants to add you in skype (the user that wants to start a campaign) I was interested join in his/her upcoming campaign. I was interested to be the graphic artist so than he wants me to him on skype.
Is it okay to talk to him via skype? Did someone already tried it?.
Things that come up into my mind:
1.he could use my face my identity to scam other poeple(he/she might screenshot it in the middle of our conversation
2. I want to study if this was likely safe ( I was thingking that only the person I already see in person(my boss for exampls) would be okay

i don't think there is a clear-cut answer for this. I'm not a skype user (probably never will be), but i've been asked for my skype details on numerous occasions. IF i were a skype user, i would probably have denied 75% of those requests, but indulged the other 25%.
You just have to know what you're doing... - when talking over skype, the other party gets to know what you look like, and how you sound - he/she can probably deduce your country (native english speaker, accent, people talking on the background) - the other party can see part of your house/location you're skyping - don't know if this is fixed (yet), but skype used to lack proper end to end encryption, and they were using central servers - skype requires a phone number, which can be used to identify you - there used to be tricks for the other party to discover your home ip address
In some cases, all these 'vulnerabilities' might not be a problem (at all), but in most cases, i wouldn't use skype.
An extra factor is that skype conversations are a bit harder to prove than discussions on the public forum... In case the other party turns out to be a scammer, it might be handy if your conversations were all public.

Adding someone on Skype shouldn't be problematic. Just make sure that you don't open/download any suspicious attachments or links and you should be fine. If it's an interview then it should purely be that. Don't fall for any click bait and you'll be safe.

It would be safe if you are talking to the legit person like other said legendary and high reputative here in forum can be trusted because their account was valuable here in forum. You can also use escrow of they are offering a job for you to add in skype i think it safe.. and it is easy to chat with the person who offer a job than you are just chatting here in forum..

I would never talk to strangers on Skype or any other platform showing my face. If you are interested in working with them, show your portfolio, your last jobs, there isn't need to show your face... It's surely not safe if you don't know the person on the another side of the screen.
Try to make it most professional as possible, but without showing yourself, only by emails, files, these things...

I will not detailed my advices and we will go directly to the situation why you are asking this question. As far as you can see that they are legit and their staffs are well transparent then I don't mind showing my face. It's your camera so you can just show not your whole face. Because on the other hand they will show theirs too. Also I don't think that your image as a screenshot will be used on scam. It's unusual if a person that is target to be scammed will believed in that kind scam with screenshot of your image. To make scam, it must be presentable and just a screenshot of your face will do nothing. Also if just for discussions, then obviously they will not asked for a live view as the only thing do here is to chat and chat and chat. Maybe at first meeting you can allow some camera thing because both party will do it also. Internet is a dangerous world but it doesn't mean it's all about danger. We have some working minds that can deal with that kind of concern.

In past time, I used skype for make deal or buying some things. But usually see scammer and got scam because not use Escrow when make deal. Skype very easy for fake information and become to scammer. It can remove history chat in conversation and you will not have proof for prove this person is scammer. Very risk when use Skype for job at now if not use escrow

Adding a member to the Skype doesn't cause any big problem. It's us who control the entire activities of our account. I could suggest to be cautious while using the information received from person whom you feel to be problematic or just delete them. It won't affect any data transfer and other malware attack.

Its safe, just be careful clicking any link from your contacts, if you dont trust the link or your unfamiliar with the domain, its best to ignore it. if you cant resist clicking it, try to use incognito page so they cant embed any cookie on your browser. just to be safe.

It is okay to add or let someone added you on skype but if they send you any files over and ask you to download in your computer, this task may not be safe for you. A stranger can send you virus file, it can leak your personal data to a specific server.

For a chat, yes Skype is best but for business Skype is not. It is vulnerable and lots of malwares and viruses can be affected through Skype. Haven't you heard about ewhoring.?

I will say, it depends on the job offer and other factors that surrounds it. You don't expect a reputable company or individual wanting to hire a rep on long-term basis not knowing and see who he wants to hire and aside that interviews are being conducted via Skype these days as I have equally done one myself. The fact is if you are not comfortable doing it, just don't move close to it several deals have been sealed via Skype.

You are safe as long as you do not provide any vital information or download anything suspicious given by him. If you are uncomfortable with video chatting with him,let him know. I don't think he needs to see your face just to give you a job online. Just be safe and if you think there is something fish, just back out.

I haven't used skype for 5 or 6 years so i don't know what changes it does but i suggest that you should use two different accounts; one for personal use and; one for business.
but yah don't use video calls on anyone that asked you to. do a background check if you can. if not decline because your safety is the top priority.
this is optinal but you can ask your employer if he has telegram as it is much easy to use than skype imho.

I also do not trust this kind of scheme easily. When i am about to take a job using skype i am not using my personal skype account instead i will use a business skype axcount which has different details from my personal details.
