I can imagine Sheldon taking over the apartment for mining and updating the roommate agreement with Leonard, while trying to explain bitcoins to Penny.

What about other shows? When do you think bitcoins will make it to the TV screen?

Lately The Big Bang Theory seems more interested in sex and women than technology... so good luck for bitcoin.

Hey, it's just a matter of time, I'm sure they'll do it.

BTW, speaking of sex ... I think this week's episode was da bomb.

My guess would be soon since they are going to try and play catchup with The Good Wife. I wouldn't be surprised if there is an episode in the works as we type.

Also I could see the plot line be one of them misusing one of the supercomputers for mining bitcoins. Of course they would say they need it to buy something for WOW or some other popular game (maybe BF3 or MW3). Usually the show hops on bandwagons for popular techy games and such.

They should make Bitcoin the currency of Greendale Community College.

Any significantly advanced cryptocurrency is indistinguishable from Ponzi Tulips.

No no no. They should adopt Soiledcoin and then it turns out that Pierce is RealSolid. All you peasants must grovel before RealPierce!

Hilarity ensues when Troy and Abed try to save Greendale by finding and compromising the trusted nodes (hint: one is Chang) like horcruxes.

The study group would definitely be divided until they realize that Greendale is also the Alma Mater of Satoshi and that it was originally intended to beat City College in a science fair competition.

Has anyone ever tried to contact the producers/writers?
I think this would be huge in terms of publicity if it worked.

Agreed. I'll see what I can do to get in contact with someone at the show. And I'll post updates as I have them (if anybody ever decides to write back).

TV nerds != real nerds

The only reason to limit the block size is to subsidize non-Bitcoin currencies
