Hi.
I've got a hundred USD which I wanna invest in some altcoin. I know this amount is nothing, but since I'm a complete noob at cryptocurrensies, I decided to begin with the small amount. So, I want to try out how everything works, at the same time I want to keep my investment safe and sound. That's why  I'm looking for some underappreciated altcoin with the bright future which will graciously accept my modest investment and bring me it back with some profit Wink
Have you heard anything about this kind of coin?
Before you start investing, do some research. Analyze the coins you are going to invest in. Since you are a newbie, starting with small amount is actually a sensible thing to do. But you don't want to be losing those coins and get demotivated. So better learn before you start.
$100 won't get you much profit. Try investing those on some casinos, while you save more coins to invest?

i recently invested in TEzos, the only ico that make sense to me now, the investment support is huge, so no reason to believe will fail, the first pump will be my exit with a good profit

i only invested 0.2 btc, because i don't like ico in any case, but this was a safe bet in my view, not gong to lose this chance, $100 is a bit too low for an investment, but i would suggest some good altcoin

I'm going to take this as advice for myself, I think people ask where to invest a small amounts of money but everything starts with a small amount and keeping increasing it gradually. Your strategy seems good and I'm going to invest there too but will first research more about it.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a "safe and sound" altcoin investment. Cryptocurrency investments are EXTREMELY risky and highly volatile.

You can buy anything that is in top 10 place in coinmarketcap.com because almost all alts are in correction phase right now so a pump after this correction is quite guaranteed.

My choices for you are etc, xem, eth

I will suggest the same thing if someone who don't know about cryptocurrencies want to invest.
But remember, there is no shortcut to doubled your capital. The most safe coin is bitcoin I guess and you can get more profit than $100 if you willing to wait for several months. Bitcoin has been proven as reliable investment which its price always increases over time.

If you ask for my opinion, I will tell you to invest it in LTC, Ripple, Golem, Dash, and Ethereum. These five have potentials and are likely to rise in the next month or so. In the case of LTC, for example. We've seen how busy and focused Lee is now on his LTC, especially after LTC SegWit was successfully activated. His presence will also add up steam to LTC's price, that is according to investors' opinions. When it comes to ETH, many cryptocurrency investors also speak of it as taking the lead or being the key player in altcoin. The rest, just check their prices on exchange sites and you'll see why I mentioned them.

That sounds reasonable. I'll just diversify my "fortune" and buy the smallest amount of each coin you listed. Lets see what's gonna be in a month.

Investing into cryptocurrencies is highly risky and at the same time this profit you in a better way than any other investment. And as mentioned volatility will always be there with bitcoin and altcoins. Just because of that users make a big profit. So I see risk and volatility as the beauty to bitcoin.

Yeah, that's why cryptocurrencies attract so many desperate people who invest their last savings, hoping to multiply it. I'm one of them  Grin

Possibly invest it in litecoin. It is one of the major altcoins but is much cheaper right now than dash, Etherium, or zcash. I think it could increase in price as investors look for something less expensive but still has a large trading volume.

No matter what you do I strongly suggest you do your own reading and education.  I have only been involved in cryptos since last last year, but I have been reading every white paper and every article I have been able to.  Fascinating stuff, really.  My mind has since been open to so many possibilities.

Something that is not in whitepapers is the adoption rate.  Adoption is obviously key, as network effects for coins are an immense part of their appeal and use.

Personally, while I like bitcoin, I am also a big fan of Ethereum.  The fact that there are so many projects in its ecosystem is extremely promising.  Sure, many of them are still in their nascent stages now, but I think that by virtue of the exponential growth in interest that we are seeing, there are bound to be some hits in the near future.  I've been working on a few projects myself and personally am hoping I can help that trend. you need to buy bitcoin first if you want to invest in altcoin and i think its the right time because many of altcoin is down so you can buy many amounts of the coin. i think investing in altcoin is another solution for you if you can hold it while the down price like today. but if you want, you can also hold your bitcoin after you bought and don't sell when the price is not increase high.

How about a $300 investment? I know not much more than a $100. I live in Tokyo, just opened account and was going to put it all in etheruem. But after reading the forums it seems there are better potential opportunities.

Thoughts?

Go visit http://coinmarketcap.com/ and study some of the altcoins. Mainly, that they can do, and what can they solve in life. Then go invest on the altcoins that you think has potential. Don't just buy altcoins because they're rising, as they could only be pump and dump coins.

Since your budget is pretty small, I suggest going for the coins that are lower in price (around $0.01-$5 minimum probably?). Or you could go for the a bit higher priced ones like EOS and NEO/ANS if you're planning on investing more cash into cryptocurrencies in the future.

Goodluck!

Serious investments are having small annual ROI%. With $100 on 5-6% will get only 5-6% on a yearly base. So if i were you, I would divide it in 5 and by micro amount of ICO tokens from what I think is interesting ICO at the moment. Then I will forget about it for few month and then will check it, hoping at least one of them will be x10.

If you are a complete noob then dont invest even a cent based on anyone's suggestion here. Try to learn and understand the concept of altcoins and check which concept can make it to the future. Its based on that decision you have to invest. Most of the coins are pumped artificially right now so be aware of the environment. All the best.

Probably would go into some decent ICOs but for bitcoin I think I would shell a couple dollars and try to just hold it since it would also be a good thing in the future. Also, seeing that bitcoin tends to go up as time goes by, it wouldn't hurt to buy bitcoins with that price since it's quite a small amount if you'd ask me.

Yea. Just go to a ICO. But then again, you can to be really careful and study which ICO. I won't also recommend, you need to look at it and make your better judgement. Not all ICO are scams, most of it are really good in given returns to their investors. Or you can buy bitcoin and then just buy every chance to got so that you can accumulate in overtime. And for sure you will gain profit on that method.

It's not that big sum to invest but I would choose some shares. I have a broker friend who could give me an advice which to invest in. Maybe this kind of investment isn't so much popular anymore but it seams like a good one to me. Or if you want it to be simple, just buy some satoshies.
