I am fairly sure more bitcoin than monero will have been stolen/lost from alphabay if it really is an exit scam.

Either way, at least the Chinese mining cartels (and by extension the Chinese govt) don't control the monero mining like they do the bitcoin mining.  Wink

Yeah how much Monero could have been stolen from alphabay? I'm guessing not too much

Any Altcoins that have ties / adoption with dark markets are at risk.
When bad news shows up it makes the anon coin etc look bad.

But did you all read the link?

From what i got from that was..
Alphabay is down.. AND.. Money was taken out as well!

So it's one thing for it to be down again since Tuesday.
But another when accounts were allegedly emptied.

Anyway no self respecting crypto coin should advocate DM usage.
I am not against it so much as I am just concerned with involvement with it is too risky.

People can & do regularly get arrested.. And that was the underlying point to the story.
And guess what?
For all we know Monero staff or Ethereum staff helped them get caught.

I am not against anything but an unrealistic false sense of security.
DM's are a problem waiting to happen..

Anon blockchain leads to more exit scams.
It's tempting for a webmaster to leave with all the money knowing nobody can trace.

Seems ZCash killed Alphabay. Ass soon as they added ZCash, darkmarket died.  Sadly darmarket is not an exchange and we will never know how much BTC was stollen.

What if ZCash was created to bust darkmarkets?

Yes is funny why the story skipped Ethereum.

I don't know more about underground market of Monero, but with me this is a news make me have a reason going to buying extra amount for long term. But not at now, I waiting this news create panic selling on monero market maybe crash to 0.01 or under are good base. Remember in history, ETH had some news about hacked and falldown to $6, but most trader don't know this is best time for buying and waiting a huge profit from it.

With me, the market or technology of altcoin I don't care, profit and my experience using to trading is all and I will not miss a opportunity from Monero
