i respect all religion in this world, religion has been come to show the way of life to everybody, but must of the religion has been contaminated or populated. so we have to find out the actual way of life by reading and seeking in many different religious books and another different way. so it is not wise to hate a religion without finding any fault or fabrication...

Modern religions (especially Islam and Christianity) are engaged in a fierce battle to convert the maximum number of people, and this is the root cause for all the religious tensions around the world.

If so, why?

Yup... a lot of Christians have told me that I will go to hell if I don't adhere to Christianity (I don't believe in god, but I identify myself as a Hindu). I have faced a lot of discrimination from the Christians, despite living in an overwhelmingly Hindu-majority nation. These people are forcibly converting poor Hindus by threatening to throw their children out of schools if they don't convert (most of the schools in my area are run by the churches).

...I believe that what these Christians have told you about going to hell if you are not a Christian is completely wrong. It feels as if these were Christian extremists.

Umm... what?

Isn't that the very basis of Christianity?

Christians go to heaven (via Jesus), and all others go to hell?

That is not an extremist view, it's the only view... if you don't believe that Christians go to heaven and all others go to hell, you are not a Christian... you're a deist or pantheist at best (believe in a god, but not the Christian god)

Christian here, where are you getting that? I don't believe what you said yet I still consider myself a Christian. The churches I've gone to also preach the same thing. Just because you aren't Christian doesn't mean you are going to hell. Feel free to call me whatever you want, but what you are doing is in the same vein as saying that if you aren't in ISIS you aren't practicing Islam. It's mindsets like this that harm the world and create stereotypes and generalizations.

By definition, a Christian is simply someone who believes in Jesus Christ. No more, no less.

There is a certain book that is used as the sole base upon which every single christian doctrine is built. This book, called by many "bible" is single handedly the only measuring stick and guiding principle for every single uttering you wish to make about the contents of your belief. Do you think you really know what is going on in this book, what the message it contains, clearly imply? Have you studied this book upon which the entirety of your belief is built, in depth and have you integrated its creed to the very fibre of your being? Are you sure you are a christian?

One good thing about Christianity is that the bible never urges Christians to wage Jihad against the non-believers. It only ask them to convert the non-believers (although the means to do that is not explained). However, some of the Christian sects are deviating from this, and are using violence, deception and money power to convert others to Christianity.

No dude.

I'm not a subscriber of Christianity, but I don't hate on anyone that is a subscriber, unless it affects others negatively (ie. priests that fondle little kids).  Even then, it's just the individual.  There are good honest empathetic people and assholes in any religion.
I am not a Christian but I do not hate Christians either. It is their area of Christian believers that only God is the only way of salvation for all human sins in life. The Christian is also called Christian or Christian.

Different Christian denominations interpret the Bible differently. Some see it as a direct word of God, others do not. I am of the latter. Just because you know what a Christian denomination entails does not mean that you would know mine. Even the books included in the Bible differ among some denominations. Look at how Catholics have additional books in their bible and how the Catholic Pope preaches many things that could be interpreted as the opposite of what is taught in the bible. At the most fundamental idea, a Christian is simply someone who believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a savior. More specific beliefs will depend on what denomination we are talking about. While I do not identify myself as being too religious, I do know that many denominations can have conflicting beliefs.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

It's not my character to to hate any religions belief. Especially to Christianity, though I'm one of them however, base on the Bible we should love one another as we loved ourselves which is the second commandment by God.

No, I do not hate christians. Hating is a natural thing, hating someone is a human nature. But hating religion is not a wise thing. If a person commits a crime, that person is wrong, not his religion.

No, I'm indifferent to them. This is a rather ancient religious stream and it is more like a tradition, not something bad. If people like to believe in this, then let them believe.

Tell that to the poor tribals in Tripura and Mizoram, who are being converted to Christianity at gunpoint. Those who refused to convert were executed, raped and tortured by the militants (especially by the NLFT). The Baptist church in the US is directly funding the NLFT terrorists. And every week they boast about the number of new converts to Christianity.

Christians, muslims, atheists, whatever, i son't hate a person by what religion they're affiliated with. It really doesn't make sense to me why people hate juat because another person has different beliefs. I mean you don't even know the person what they've gone through.it's foolish to make such judgemental thoughts towards others

I never ask new friends to what religion they belong to. It is very foolish to divide people according to their religious views. It's not important for me. The main thing is that this person's character was good

No and to hate a general group of folks is absurd imo. I can hate when Christians push their beliefs on me but otherwise to hate a whole religious group seems like a horrible idea.

So at first thought, a christian is someone who believes in Jesus Christ, then after some more reflection (though taking care to not get too religious), a christian is someone who now believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a savior. What does this mean? Did Jesus Christ get resurrected so he could save you or is his resurrection your salvation or something else or both or both plus something else? What does this actually mean, I'm confused on this?

If some believer does not see the bible as the direct word of God, would he maybe see it as the indirect word of God? Is it Godly at all? What does this mean?

One reason is that we seldom know for sure why we christians are being hated. It flatters us to believe that it is entirely a matter of being “persecuted for righteousness sake” (Matthew 5:10). But realistically, the good that we do is often mixed with selfishness, jealousy, pride, and self-protection. If we are honest, we realize that there are times when our enemies are rightly putting their finger on something ugly in us, and are angered by our sin.

Still another reason we should be willing to be good to our enemies is that we ourselves have benefited from God’s grace and are indebted to God’s love (Matthew 18:23-35). God offered us mercy, even when we unfairly hated Him. We who have experienced the miracle of God’s unconditional love should be the first to strive for peace, resisting the impulse to condemn (Matthew 5:22; Romans 12:10).

No. I'm not a churchgoer and was never baptised but i would not doubt that the overwhelming majority of Christians are good, tolerant and well intended people. There are a few aspects of the Church of England and the Catholic church that i would take exception to, and i don't trust jehovahs witnesses, beyond that i'm generally positive towards Christians.

By definition, a Christian is simply someone who believes in Jesus Christ. No more, no less.

As a matter of fact, the answer to your questions supports my point quite well in that the answers would be different depending on what denomination you were referring to. While a follower of the Baptist church may answer your questions a certain way, a Catholic may believe the exact opposite things. This is just a hypothetical, but what I am getting at is that the real set of beliefs of each person is represented more by their religious denomination than by the fact that they are Christian. To pose a more extreme, but still accurate, example, you could believe that God spreads his work through McDonald's and you would still could refer to yourself as a Christian as long as you believed in Jesus, since that is the definition of what a Christian is. A more detailed set of beliefs is going to depend on the specific denomination.

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.
