This is an another Conspiracy and it is so hard to believe nowadays because almost all of the things that we see in the internet seems true, we believe at first sight most of the time in this internet thing unless you already learned your lessons not to.

Quote
When the rules are constantly being altered and manipulated in favor of western interests, then you can understand why eastern miners would carry out an attack such as the one that brought down the twin towers on 9/11. Mutually-assured destruction is a last resort for enslaved and exploited populations. (i.e. "If you're going to force me to lose, then I'm going to take you down as well.")

What can we do about this?

For me there is no 100% thing as long as you are not there when it happened because every individual can make their own story to make them good in the eyes of others because it is a human nature that we have a wide imagination to make it believable.

I thought I was the only one who understood UASF as a dangerous precedent.

A real honest test would be implement it as a Hard Fork and let the economic majority, whom is claimed to be supporting this, truly decide which chain had value.

This way, it's just a clever way of gaming the system and add a little bit more incentive through the dangers of replay and reorg.

For those who claim they don't want to disrupt the system and thus apologize for soft forks, this one is candy...

This is coercion at its best, regardless of pretended chivalry of what is being fought for.

The fact is, Bitcoin's brand is valuable. Noone wants to risk forking off to a new coin. This is the only reason this is being done through a soft fork in my eyes.

That is very sad, and the thing about the twin tower conspiracy Possible motives claimed by conspiracy theorists for such actions include justifying the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq if this is true then it is a sad thing to do just to invade other countries, and I think if you apply this to Bitcoin, I think many envious people  do want bitcoin to be destroy and by doing this they would let something happen and to think that it will be a good thing in our eyes but it is something we should avoid, but I wish that it will not happen and this is just a theory also and a guess that this things about conspiracy are not true.

I admire the fact that you exerted much effort for this.

I won't be going deeper through your discussion. But I agree that code is law. Well, as with all laws, they say no one is above the law. That should apply but we tend to forget that laws are, after all, creations of people who put themselves under the law they create. Well, they, and the rest, know that laws need a little retouch every now and then. This is not for something else but for development, their own development. If they know that the laws (codes if you want) need improvement, they have to do something about it. If they need progress. If they want to survive and live longer.

this "law" that you are so happy about is enforced through something called consensus in a decentralized network like bitcoin. and when this consensus is reached it means the majority of the network has accepted that new "law" and you need to respect that.

creating dumb memes won't change anything about it.

and if you are unhappy about how things work in bitcoin, there are centralized altcoins that can work to your liking with one person making all the decisions and the network follows him. you can switch to those altcoins.

Good point. I wonder what altcoin the OP would transfer to that satisfies his requirements. Litecoin has Segwit, Dash is instamined, Ethereum cannot scale unless it hard forks to POS and ETC has the DAO hacker ready to dump. Never mind the others like Ripple XRP.

I agree that the system of digital coding in crypto-currency can be considered a kind of law. Only the ordinary law in any state is a system of universally binding rules of conduct of a general nature issued by the state power. Coding in the crypto currency does not come from the government. These are the rules for using crypto currency, which participants of the use of crypto-currency voluntarily assume. For the crypto-currency is characteristic not power, but the lack of power, decentralization. And in this code in the crypto currency is different from the law in the usual sense of the word.
