My question is simple.
Why anyone are nervous about the segwit2x hard fork part and not support this guys to fork off from network forever.
I dont think the fork chain will survive without skill devs and without majority of users to support it.
Will be a very risk business for the forkers to maintenance their network and to survive in long term especially without skilled developers.
In the other hand Bitcoin devs, users and everyone in bitcoin ecosystem imo must support them to fork off from network.
After their fork this silly non tech and conspiracy theories noise will go away and bitcoin will return and focus to tech innovation.
The future of bitcoin is great and will be much better without shadow characters like Jihan, Roger Ver, Garzik, Gavin, Wright.

You are right, but i don`t think that "anyone" (i quess you mean everyone) are nervous about this.
I assume that 90% of all bitcoin users are noobs who aren`t familiar with Segwit and that makes them afraid.
There will always be shadow characters who want to profit from damaging and manipulating the bitcoin community. The fork won`t make them disappear.

They are all affected by the FUDs that are keep on spreading in the internet they believed that the bitcoin will get messed up after the fork and the price of bitcoin will significantly fall after the fork but that is not true because bitcoin will become more stronger because of the upgrade and the price could possibly reach to a higher price point.

There is definitely FUD going on around and a lot of newbies in bitcoin are reading it and thinking that it is a right thing so we can not blame them for being like that, but I think there are many bitcoin users that are taking precaution on the impending split that is about to happen we can not blame them too because all of us doing want to lose money that we invest in bitcoin right? and I think there are others that doesn't know how to make a secure wallet for their bitcoin that is why they will surely sell all of it or convert it to fiat.

Bitcoin bifurcation affects the value of the market and the interests of miners, so everyone will pay attention to, while bitcoin will affect other trends in virtual currencies, because bitcoin is big brother Cool

Those who panic will lose their money. I don't believe in severe consequences for bitcoin. I'm sorry that because of this panic, whales will buy even more coins and therefore they will be easier to destabilize the price of bitcoin.

It might be because they are afraid if segwit failed.
Also, I think lots of ppl still didn't know what is segwit and all.

Not to mention with this week's prices. Really unstable and hard to predict.

Segwit is a very extraordinary thing. Many people will be annoyed when waiting for results segwit. Whatever happens later we can not know exactly. Some say that segwit will make bitcoin prices increase and some say that bitcoin prices will decrease drastically.

Those who are afraid of the hard fork are those who are not well versed in securing their bitcoins because of the fud spreading about losing bitcoin and its value. But if you know what you are doing, you will not be affected by these fuds. I also think that segwit will bring much development in bitcoin. If it will be an effective scaling solution, it will take bitcoin to a wider mass adoption.

Just leave your bitcoins safe and wait for it more not to it. There will by a result from this if it's good Bitcoin will reach new heights. I am not nervous about the result its part of the evolution for the crypto market to become an adult. Market will always move up and down for speculation. Crypto currencies are here to stay.

To say that everyone is nervous and afraid of SEGWIT2X is wrong, most of us might be but not everyone. There are still people who understand all about segwit and hard fork and they aren't nervous, they know it very well that at last it's the bitcoin which has to come out as winner and it's only bitcoin which is going to stay there forever.

Is because they are all affected to all FUD's that have been spreading in all the time. If you're afraid that Segwit2x fork would highely success then place your btc in some altcoins that have potential to grow. But me this is just a FUD that came serious to all newbei bitcoiners

With the Segwit2x compromise it seems that the vast majority of the ecosystem is supporting this (depends where you are checking but it seems that 80-90% are signaling for Segwit2x). So if we see a split on August 1st I would assume it is something like 90/10 (and not 50/50 like it was feared with Segwit vs. block size) and therefore I would rather expect that the price will be rising quickly once people realize that there is no massive issue at all. Probably lots of people who panic sold their bitcoin in beforehand will try to rebuy them and will pay a higher price now.

I think the reason why most people are nervous is the huge drop on value the fork would cause which is not truly appealing to the ears. But who knows what would happen after the fork as there may be huge skyrocketing in price afterwards. The best is just to stay cool and hope for the best. Moreover if everything should go well, the aftermath should he a great one for us all.

The market doesn't like volatility, that is why I am nervous.

I am a fan of bitcoin, I like the principles behind it, but I also care about my money and don't want to have an improved bitcoin that costs $500, now that I am used to it being over $2000.
The split didn't do ETH any long term damage, but it could hurt Bitcoin. I think an amicable agreement from both sides resulting in one stronger chain in the future is the obvious dream scenario.

Maybe 2 strong Bitcoins are better than 1, but it is worrying, this is real money we are talking about!

Why everyone are nervous for the segwit2x fork?

Everyone? Are you sure? Did you check everyone's pulse?

I looking forward to this "drama", purely to see how it plays out and have fun.

Life too short to be nervous.

Yes but if a split happens it doesn't matter if the other chain dies off quickly. People who are unfamiliar with the technology and environment will be extremely confused. And we might as well creat an even bigger problem in our attempt to get bitcoin mainstream and that's not something we want really.

People are nervous because there isn't 100% consensus and despite all the problems bitcoin faces people are still fighting each other rather than accepting this compromise. The reality is though that segwit2x has like 90%+ support, there is very little risk.

The future of bitcoin is great and will be much better without shadow characters like Jihan, Roger Ver, Garzik, Gavin, Wright.

Apart from Garzik, I haven't heard of any other developers working on Segwit2x. Segwit was coded by the core developers over a considerable period of time with many testings and successfully activated on Litecoin. Segwit2x lacks developers and the whole coding is being hurriedly carried out to push the 2 MB hard fork agenda.

Majority of miners have shown the intent to signal Segwit2x by July 21 and if a large number of miners doesn't back out then Segwit would get activated through Segwit2x. On the other hand, if Segwit2x fails, UASF would activate Segwit and Bitmain had earlier threatened the network with UAHF if Segwit2x fails.

The agenda of this mining cartel is quite simple, not to activate Segwit, but to fork the network either through Segwit2x (three months after Segwit activation) or by threatening the community with a possible UAHF.

I don't think the second part of Segwit2x would get any economic majority and the same thing with Jihan's illusionary UAHF. If he wants to pull off a hard fork with minority, let him do it, another altcoin to the list of thousands, and bitcoin would be free of the likes of Jihan, Ver, and CSW who apart from trying to control the network, have nothing substantial to contribute to the network.

Most of the newbies don't really put an effort to understand what is happening to the network. They just focus on the word split and start worrying about its impact on bitcoins price, they have the right to be concerned, but when you look at the broader picture, once Segwit gets activated, it would be smooth sailing.

It is because we have no idea what will happen in the bitcoin market after the split. Most of them are beginner in the bitcoin society and they don't know what will possible happen. Me too, I'm nervous because of the news, and when I ask my other friends reagarding this, they have own opinion like holding, selling before of august and others put their bitcoin in other wallet. But much better to think a positive result, maybe it is because bitcoin is become popular so we need to upgrade.

First, some people are very nervous about every price drop, they are only satisfied when Bitcoin grows without drops, which is stupid and unrealistic.
Also, forkers have a lot of hashing power, so they could screw with Bitcoin if they wanted too, although they will not succeed in the end, they could do a lot of damage, and who knows, maybe they are crazy.
Forkers might actually try to claim that their fork is the true Bitcoin, and the other chain is an altcoin, which will cause split in Bitcoin community, as some people will be supporting them. But it seems that as of now most users support Core, so forkers will probably fail here.

I think the segwit2x is for the betterment of the bitcoin and nothing is going to happen wrong to the bitcoin. It is just the upgradation of the protocols and we have already experienced it with the litecoin. Think positive be positive and expect positive, and exactly the bitcoin is upgrading due to its popularity.

Many things including the transaction fee and transaction time will be settled and improved in the segwit, so just chill and wait for the price to go high after 1st August.

Maybe they are afraid because of the spreaded speculations that after the Segwit2x fork bitcoin's price value will be lead into a 50-50 situation wherein it is between the pump and dump scenario. Especially the new ones because an early signal has been done wherein bitcoin's price have just drop this day. But still we are hoping that after the Segwit2x fork price value will come back to normal or the best thing is that it will reach its price peak.

Maybe it is because of the reason that there are news spreading (gossips) that after Segwit2x fork, bitcoin's price will be a 50-50 chance to get its pump or dump. But we still does not know what will happen yet it is still alarming that early this morning bitcoin's price have just drop in a sudden. But still we are hoping that after the said event to happen within a week or two weeks from now, bitcoin will regain its price value or reach its highest price value peak.

They are nervous becasue instead of working together as one to successfully implment SegWit2x both sides continue to quarrel, troll, and bitch about the other, meanwhile the price of Bitcoin goes to dirt.

Some may see segwit as a failure for bitcoins, not that I agree with them, but the plummeting price is due to the uncertainty around the whole thing. People are not sure, and not everyone is prepared to wait and see, hence the dump.

Although it is true what you mention that it was already implemented in LTC,but there is no point making the comparison if we consider the user base between both, the possibility of a division among the community was very low only for not saying zero, because apart from the price of LTC was relatively low,and beforehand knew that change would only benefit both the miners and everyone in general, that's why I think the situation is very different with the implementation within BTC.

The nervous people are the people who do not understand what is happening. The price is dropping because a bunch of people has sold some

bitcoins to buy much cheaper coins. This will probably be the last time that you will be getting cheap coins like this. Once all this Fud/shilling and

fake panic is all over, Bitcoin is going to be massive. Buy before the 1st of Aug or you will have to get back in at very high prices.  Wink

People are nervous because there isn't 100% consensus and despite all the problems bitcoin faces people are still fighting each other rather than accepting this compromise. The reality is though that segwit2x has like 90%+ support, there is very little risk.

If bitcoin does not receive consensus from the community, in different directions it will be split, which will greatly affect the bitcoin value.

Only those people consider segwit as the failure who do not have knowledge about this technology and they just hear from others that something bad will happen while the expert in crypto technology know that segwit is better for the successful future of bitcoin and after august 1st the technology of bitcoin will be more convenient and then more people will adopt it and so after that the price of bitcoin will continue to increase more. I am holding my bitcoin for that time and I do not have any hurry to sell my bitcoins as others have.

Yes but if a split happens it doesn't matter if the other chain dies off quickly. People who are unfamiliar with the technology and environment will be extremely confused. And we might as well creat an even bigger problem in our attempt to get bitcoin mainstream and that's not something we want really.
Not everyone here is highly technical or a good user of high upgraded technology so there are problems for them regarding what action to take in the best favor of their coins in case if a split happens.
Honestly, I am nervous to how to react to a split so that I don’t lose any of my coin. Many bad things flash into my mind whenever I think of the segwit2x if goes wrong.

If I may add, those that consider Segwit2x as a failure not only have no knowledge about it, but are just here to get rich quick. And when they are seeing that the price is going down hard, then sell instead of buying or just holding on their coins. We don't know what's gonna happened after the activation, but I think it will really bring bitcoin to the next level. This price dip is temporary only, and after it is implemented the price will slowly gain momentum and we may see another ATH hit again this year. I'm also holding and will not hurry to sell just because the price is going down.

Can someone explain what the fork thing is? Everytime I google I find nothing...
Forking means that the software development will go into two or more directions, probably one of the best examples is Linux, there are many flavors of Linux and you can choose the one you like the most, if bitcoin forks, then that means that two different bitcoins will exist, the bitcoin backed by the devs and the bitcoin backed by the miners.

Why everyone are nervous? Because we don't know what will happen after 1st August, how everything will affect bitcoin price. Non tech guys like I'm have limited knowledge about fork.
Lot of people still don't know what will happen to their bitcoins and how to keep it safe.
And all FUD around us makes situation even worse.

This is exactly why people are worried, we do not have a way to know with certainty what it is going to happen and the markets hate uncertainty, what we need is stability not the possibility bitcoin forks and we get two bitcoins, if there is already confusion for the average person when it comes to crypto, can you imagine how much confusion they are going to get when they see two different coins claiming to be the original?

Yes, if we don't know what will be happen after august 1 I'm sure that you are nervous ( me too). Especially the user of bitcoin that save allot for their future, others are panicking on the news, they sell their bitcoin to make sure that they have income.

If your prediction will happen its a big problem, maybe the one kind of currency are not compatible to the other one, or maybe the bitcoin you save will lost, or maybe in in transaction it gives a problem which will lost or no receiving will happen.

It seemd FUD about the August update had calmed down.  With the majority support the possible lockdown to Bip 91 is about to happen.  This is bullish Bitcoin, and we had seen its effect.  nervousness escalates but not for the segwit 2x but rather for FOMO.  Those who hold their BTC are lucky since bitcoin had been increasing today.

Maybe some bitcoin investors buy a lot of bitcoin after the dump that happened this week because we can see the price pumps back to 2s after it reach the 1s in the previous days.
Also, people thought that these dump will keep up, there are some users that sold their bitcoin and sold another alt currencies but nobody predicted that the price dump will just take a while.

The future of bitcoin is great and will be much better without shadow characters like Jihan, Roger Ver, Garzik, Gavin, Wright.

Jihan:  Has done more for putting ASICS in the hands of individual miners than anyone else
Roger: Invested in Bitcoin companies before everyone else, when everyone thought Bitcoin was a tulip Ponzi
Garzik: Wrote bitcoin libraries as a core developer years ago. Worked on sw2x at the request of the community
Gavin: The person Satoshi entrusted Bitcoin with.  Lead developer in the early years.
Wright: Possibly part of SN, very smart man writing great papers to help us scale bitcoin without nonsense second layers and seg-crap

"Shadow Characters".  You're funny.

I suppose in your mind Blockstream is a bunch of great guys that wouldn't dare put their patented sidechains or
their venture capital bosses ahead of the users, right?

Very classical, they started a huge FUD to make holders sell their bitcoin for cheap prices, and then they collected all. After they had the coins, they started to pump it to seel us in high price. Very easy but tricky.

People are typically afraid of what they don't know or understand, don't blame us too much. Wish someone had helped clarify the Segwitx2 thing. False info shouldnt have been tolerated(if there were any).
It was really a tensed period.

I don’t think so that anything will go wrong. But I agree, one should always be prepared for worst. Most probably prices will hype but in case, they dump; one should hang onto bitcoins. The fall in crypto market is never permanent. Every fall results in rise of values at the end of day.

Well, it serves the panic sellers right, they decided to sell upon several threads in this forum advising them otherwise so for me there's no n Ed even talking about them they've learnt it the hard way and if they are fortunate to hold bitcoin again, they will know how to handle it henceforth.
