*Full disclosure: there is a crack in the slab, this hasn't affected the coin in any way, but I do want to point this out (apparently it costs USD 10 to have this reslabbed at ANACS)*

Sweet coin. Yes, anacs wants 10 USD per "reholder" fee for reslabs. I have one in now actually. Is the gold holo normal or rarer on this coin? Sorry, no computer atm.  Thanks

I don't think reslabbing anything is ever necessary. If you're going to send it back in, just opt for regrading and hope for a bump in the score.

It is also fairly easy to recenter an off-kilter coin (this particular coin is all kinds of sideways). Just knock the slab against something solid in a rotating/circular motion.

Well in my case I'm just not willing to take the risk of a regrade, as it's already high and rare, but I would generally agree. I guess it depends on the situation.

Yeah I always had probs with the BTCC 1 BTC coins as they don't hold well in the slabs, at least for 2 of mine. It's quite annoying to literally have to knock your already slabbed coin around to get it straight....

No idea if this is a regular or more rare holo honestly... but if I need to post more pictures, let me know!

The BTC logo on the front of the coin is indeed sideways, but that's because as you know ANACS centers the hologram... Not going to smack this one against the wall, but thanks for the advice anyway, good to know for some other coins of mine!

Yes, the gold holograms were used for the numbered/auction coins IIRC
The rest of the retail coins came with a silver hologram

I dont think many have been released.  There were a couple auctions awhile back where the gold holo coins were part of a bigger auction when smoothie was running them every week

I forgot MJ made a thread about these, so if I'm reading it correctly, this is really quite rare, no? 

.25 Btc silver:
Ser 1, black label, funded "Gold Hologram". Only 200 coins were produced with a gold vs. a silver hologram. Prior to these, the gold holograms were only used on the 1 Btc silver and gold coins. Out of the 200 made, less than 25 (cumulative of funded and buyer funded.) are known to have been released.

Thanks owlcatz for the info, this indeed seems to be a very rare coin, with only 25 released...

Probably wouldn't have put it up for auction if I had known that... but that's life, should have done my research better.
