It says on their website:

"The systems Vircurex.com and Cryptostocks.com have been taken offline over the weekend
Please do not deposit any further coins to your Vircurex accounts. We must assume that the wallet has been compromised."

Damn I hope not...good exchange and I have lots of assets there.

Boy. It sure seems like the invention of BTC was one of the best things to ever happen to the black hats.

Here's hoping they are just being safe and nothing was stolen...

edit: holy crap looks like BTC-E is offline now as well.  .... yet Gox is fine haha.

.SUGAR.

So I SHOULD have listened to my instinct last night and withdrew my Bitcoins. Ugh... This is why we can't have nice things.

Why, because exchanges still think hot wallets are a good idea?

The statement is kinda contradictory though so I'm unsure.

"The systems Vircurex.com and Cryptostocks.com have been taken offline over the weekend" - suggests some sort of planning and timescale in mind..

yet

"Please do not deposit any further coins to your Vircurex accounts. We must assume that the wallet has been compromised." - suggests something has gone wrong!.

This page was up seconds\one minute after the site was unavailable however...  if they have been compromised the admins have come to some very quick conclusions and posted the message.....

I'm an admin of many systems and it strikes me as strange they posted this message so quickly (very little diagnosis could have been done imo)

They still have all my coins (about 20 BTC), looking forward to potentially trading on them in days to come.

I find it odd that Kumala kept the hacking on the "DOWN LOW".

There are threads asking for an update yet now he comes out with a report saying that the investors will pay for the hacking losses via no dividends for months to come.

Wow...just...wow.
