That's good, but I want to make sure I'm not out of pocket anything. I only had about 10-11 BTCs there, and about 25,000 FRC, but I want a statement from vircurex, saying they guarantee customers will not be the losers in this. |

Am I the only one who think that it could be a scam?
Everything related to bitcoin get """hacked""", how do we know it is true or the admin wants to keep all the coins?
I'm not saying Vircurex is a scam, but easily anybody come here with a new service (call it exchange, potato, gambling site, etc) and say "I was hacked, I lost all coins, sorry and good bye".
Trust no one.

Update: I figured I would check my LTC balance again. My LTC account is now 0 balance, so it looks like they are burning the midnight oil on this one to restore services as soon as possible.

People need to be aware of the risks when trading crypto online. Nothing is guaranteed. Last time Vircurex was hacked Kumala paid back everyone's losses out of HIS OWN POCKET. I'm not sure if he'll do this again (or if he can even afford it to) - but there is no way this is a scam. Exchange fees are pretty low and running an exchange like Vircurex, which is vital to the crypto ecosystem, seems to be a thankless job. Personally, I think the hackers that did this have to pay - I'll put 1 BTC towards a bounty to discover who they are (and I didn't even lose anything). Selfish assholes are ruining crypto for everyone and need to pay for their crimes. |

Let's all hope that this address, LVoeShNRRLd2opjWyyWQdEhydqhBA5GkTw, is in the possession of Vircurex, as that's where my Litecoins ended up. There are over 100k LTC deposited at that address currently. I'm going to ask in their thread. Perhaps full anonymity is not all it's cracked up to be, as it seems to definitely entice this type of behavior. It's almost like giving every scam artist a get out of jail free card. Perhaps there really does need to be some sort of ultimate way to track transactions to an individual, or something. Yeah, Silk Road and the like would need to figure something out, but really those illegal marketplaces cannot be the single source of Bitcoin capitalization. Otherwise we are screwed. We need more legitimate marketplaces to have Bitcoin or any alt-coin for that matter to succeed. |

Wish I could remember the address from my FRC there. I was just rading 840 coins on there a couple days ago, then I turned it into anout 890 FRC. I wonder if it's all gone. Anyone have a decent guide on how to store dev/IX coin on cold storage? Seems complicated without a GUI wallet.
