I just tried to access https://vircurex.com/ and I got "This webpage is not available"
I tried http://vircurex.com/ (http, not https) and here's what I got:

Quote
The systems Vircurex.com and Cryptostocks.com have been taken offline over the weekend

Please do not deposit any further coins to your Vircurex accounts. We must assume that the wallet has been compromised.

I haven't found ANY information about it on the forum. I haven't got any email from Vircurex.

Does anyone know:

1) what happened?
2) when it will be online?
3) are people's funds safe?

Vircurex should explain what is going on here AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

(I can only post here so if another forum would be more appropriate then please move this discussion.)

I won't add more funds - I want to take funds OUT of Vircurex and I expect someone from Vircurex to explain what is going on.

Did anyone get any email from them? Did anyone tried to contact them?

I think the panic happened some time ago...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135919.0

You quote a topic from January. I am asking about the "We must assume that the wallet has been compromised." message from TODAY. Do you know anything about it?

That's bad news. It has nothing to do with bitcoin itself, but a lot of people will see this as 'another blow' to bitcoin.

We are in the process of restoring the service. But it will take 20 hours (new set of servers, new installation).

Read this, taken from another thread here, before you freak out.

I contacted vicurex via mail and skype. Here the answers received:

Mail:
We had to take the service offline due to a security breach. We are analyzing the situation and hope to have the service up and running again by tomorrow evening

------------------
Best regards
Your Vircurex Team

Skype:
We are in the process of analyzing the damage. But ofcourse we will fund the losses out of our pockets. Most of the coins (>80%) are stored in cold wallets.

So, there is hope. Stay cool.
