i was reading the mining board the other day and some people were suggesting the nicehash calculator. but since you have to download a binary and install it i didn't trust it and i was just gathering information anyways. but if you are interested first research to see if it is safe then test it: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=calcedit: here is the mining board by the way: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

Can I get more money using the nicehash than mining at home using my pc in a pool?

try using gpu like nvidia 10series, i have a friend who is using that video card he said yes it is a bit costly or expensive but it is worth buying for because he can easily get the money that he used because the gpu that he has been using is good. but both is good, it depends on you.

Not really worth it to mine LTC with GPU, and not at all worth it to mine with CPU. Don't even try. If you really want to mine Scrypt coins via GPU, there are a number you can try that will pay out more, but still not enough to cover the Electricity. Only way it makes sense is if you get electricity for free.
For that calculator, the Speed a decent GPU usually mines LTC (Scrypt) is around 1 Mh/s more or less. The power used is around 350W
There are a number of coins that you can mine with GPU like Sia Coin, Etherium ect. Things with different hash types than Scrypt and SHA-256.
For reference, I have 2 old Gridseed Scrypt ASIC Miners left over, that hash at about 800 kh/s, so a bit less than a decent GPU. Mining alt Scrypt coins, I can pull in about $0.10 a day. They nice thing is they only use 7 W, so they are still making money. On a large coin like LTC, I would expect that to drop to around the $0.02 - $0.03 a day range. Plus with the price of Electricity, I would expect that to be in the $0.75 range, so you would be losing money each day.

if you want to try Litecoin mining you want to look out for this Antminer L3+, 504MH/s for $1900 it will profitable for now but soon as the difficulty increases your profit decreases just like all the coin that has been mined. For now it will be profitable and take the online calculator to do the math. https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/ltc

Litecoin is mined with asics these days, not gpu. Sooner or later, all altcoins will be mined by asics.

No it is not worth because the number of people who are mining litecoin is very high and if you use GPU or cpu to mine, you can never make a good profit with it. Try to buy the L3 antminer because they have set up a suitable algorithm which will help you to earn a good amount of litecoin every month.

Mining Litecoin is not as difficult as BTC because the difficulty level is still small, why small? Because ASIC miner can not participate in mining in LTC because the programming is not yet available. Currently available for mining in LTC is GPU and Processor. But I think it's better to use GPU. Because GPU can be added a lot in 1 pc

What are you talking about??? lol. ASIC Scrypt (LTC) miners have been available for almost 2 years now.

If there was even a small possibility of making money through mining Bitcoin with a CPU then there would be a bunch of people doing it. I wouldn’t do it since the difficulty for that is very high, you would need to purchase a bunch of computers in order to get up to a tiny percent chance for staying up with the competition. Thanks for the link, although the calculation might not be accurate, it will give you an view on how much money you would need to spend in order to be a competitor.
