Hi all,

Would you be so kind and report transaction time on the exchange you trade?

1. Buy BTC - how long does it take for the confirmation to arrive
2. Sell BTC - ...
3. Change BTC into another currency, or alt coin - how long the entire process takes?

As soon as there are enough answers I will put them down into an excel sheet to upload it here.

Regards

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

For transactions, it depends on the fee you give. If you give a low fee of lets say 10 satoshis per byte, it may take hours before the first confirmation, while if you pay 200+ satoshis per byte, your transaction can be confirmed in an hour.

It also depends on your service provider for buying/selling BTC but it will normally be under an hour, and as for altcoins, when your order is confirmed on an exchange site, you get it straightaway. Smiley If you are talking about services like shapeshift.io, it may vary too and I have heard that it had took a week for the transaction also.

All in all, it really depends on what you are dealing with. Tongue

That's a great info, thank you.

However, can I ask people to post with specific Exchange Names and transaction times you have actually experienced personally. If you paid certain (low/high) fees, please do mention it as it appears fees can affect the transaction time. I cannot really put down "depends on who you are dealing with" into excel sheet.

Regards,
VA.

when you trade on exchanges (buy bitcoin, sell bitcoin, exchange it for an alt,...) all of these actions are done off the chain inside your account on that platform. this means all of these actions are immediate. this means it will only take a second.

what takes time is your withdrawal or deposit which is on-chain.
the deposit is on you because you are the one paying the fees and as the other comment said it depends on the amount of fee.
the withdrawal is on the exchange and they always pay a high fee in their settings so you don't have to worry about it. the confirmation will take about 10 minutes on average for bitcoin.

There is a FOMO brewing...

At some exchanges sometimes it can take days to withdraw altcoins.

It's practically impossible for anyone to offer you any kind of help without the transaction id or just the byte to satoshi ratio of your transaction.

I don't really like to recommend a service that is working 'against' the core developers, but just to help you out ~ https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

It's a free service, but due to the insane demand for free accelerations, it's difficult to get ViaBTC to pick up your transaction at any time.

In order to increase your chances of them accepting your transaction, hit the submit button within 30 seconds of each new round hour ~ that will do it most of the times.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

Thank you Bitholder - Its done now. But lost few tokens due to delay in the transaction and exchange rate. But I guess I could live with it now.
