Has anyone used OKPay before? Getting verified by them seems like a lengthy process. What I'm interested in knowing is how trustworthy they are as a service and if they are better for transferring money to an exchange than say do a direct bank transfer.

Are you using OKPay for their Debit Card option? I wouldn't recommend it. Nice hefty fees. Wait for bitinstant debit card.

Other than that, I haven't heard of too many people using OKPay related to Bitcoin. What is your motive behind using them? If you are a merchant, I recommend BitPay.

Thanks for the advice. I was just wondering on what the most cost effective way of converting money to BTC is without leaving your computer, since in the UK I am unsure (please correct me here) that it is possible to deposit cash in a physical location and convert it to BTC direct.

Which can be difficult at times because they ask for proof of residency and don't accept black and white when that's the only proof I have access to.

okpay is rubbish at that. My proof of address had a small color logo on the top right and was black and white otherwise. okpay would reject it automatically... their color-detection algo is broken imho.

However, I loaded the pic in IrfanView, added a bit of color tint (red or blue? can't remember) in the color settings. It went through their automatic check and was soon after accepted.

Ohhh so you're using the debit card they provide? That would be a good method. Just note the fees associated with the card.
