Past two days has been a down hill slope, in the last 24 hours most coins are in the green. Will it continue to climb or are we headed for the red again?

I think it is a bull trap. Even though everything looks green the prices aren't crap compared to even a few days ago. I think this will go down again when the people who thought they made a loss realize they can sell some of their coins back before things get worse.

I think that the price will continue to climb a little bit more. Because remember we get the big dump. And I take ethereum token to be an evidence. it's got a dump from $360 until $200. That's why the more jump will be happening in the future in my opinion.

Perhaps only a few coins will remain in the green despite not having a drastic increase. And most coins will go red again i think of course it will happen in the near future.

Personally don't think any coin will stay green till btc bottoms... maybe $2,000-$1950. Still can make money every couple of days buying at dips, and selling when it peaks.
That being said, it was nice to see btc hold price for a day, and alt-coins go green. It does give hope that things could stabilize... but I doubt it. Before the last drop, I got out of most alt-coins because the last straw for me was watching btc hold price, while alt-coins lost ground, and won't be full back till btc finds a bottom.

agreed, most likely this is just a bounce in a longer term downtrend (which will hopefully not last very long)

I imagine it will be fairly quiet until next weekend (the 21st). Recovered too quickly, dump too small this time. I anticipate one more.

The same thing i'm asking myself...small rebounce...maybe waiting for something in my portfolio to turn green and sell. Guess we'll see an other drop in the next two weeks with another chance to buy back all my alts. I don't think that we are really recovering now...but who knows...

I couldnt imagine price will be over dumped. I just too hope that it will recovered, as we couldnt predict the price of all cryptocurrency these days. And until what price the dip, maybe I should be ready.

My impression is that price will fall again but not only until August. Many people are waiting for that date to shake the market but somehow I feel it won't move that much until some weeks later.

Does this really matter? We can just store our coins now and wait for better times. And they are likely to come in a month or so. During dumps one may buy some good altcoins. Nowadays is a good time for that. I think we'll see big pumps as well. Especially, if everything goes just fine with bitcoin. Just keep calm and wait till the market will be super-green again. No need to panic and sell the money.

I think it depends on when you got in. Had I been in for a long time, I would care less right now, because my initial investment would have already been paid off. I bought in during the May dip, btc @$2,000, ltc @ $36, and ETH at $180. I sold a good portion 2 weeks ago, and have been using it to buy and sell the bounces because if I can take out my initial investment, at that point I have 0 probability of losing money in this endeavor, and will be sitting in your spot... not caring and waiting for the eventual recovery.

There’s likely to be much more dumps before that time-frame because of the hype for August 1st. There might not be as much dumps on that day though a day after that might cause a disruption in the Altcoin area that will lead to a bunch of coins going down in price. The price movement is usually relative to Bitcoin so I wouldn’t think about it as much if you have Bitcoin on the side.

Why do you think the dumps will stop on Aug 1st? If there is a split and bitcoin keeps going down in price then expect all of the alts to get decimated.

I thought segwit is happening and there is no bitcoin fork, so why all the "ifs" about bitcoin splitting?

As of now a hard fork is very very unlikely. So I don't think this is something we should even be discussing anymore. The chain is not going to split.. But, if the price of Bitcoin did tank, then yes alts would certainly be expected to follow.

I think last weekend was rock bottom. We might get another decent dip this weekend, and I would consider that your last chance to buy cheap coins. I don't think btc is spltting, and there is already very early support for the upgrade. I think this was over hyped and we are entering our next bull run soon.

Well we will hardly see any more dump imo
If we actually look at the graph, this current movement performs better than previous dump into pump
Major reason should be due to BIP91
it solves the problem of compatibility within segwit2x and BIP148(UASF) , the worst fear that everyone is worrying is the chain split. But seems that this current proposal wipe out the fear of most whales

A dump wouldn't make any sense though eth had fallen to 0.96 after hitting 0.1 but I'm sure all dumpers have successfully done their job and now it's surely pump time. Some coins are still suffering but another dump wouldn't happen as more funds have already been added to the market.
