There is no safe bet when it comes to cyptocurrencies. especially recently with all the volatility and the upcoming changes in the next month its imperative that you do as much research as you can before investing. If you were to ask me though, long term I would definitely invest. Short term, I wouldn't invest right now with all the uncertainty as the where the price is going after August 1st and which coin to buy. But the number 1 rule with investing, especially in cryptocurrencies ,is invest money you aren't willing to lose.

Bitcoin is definitely your best bet. It is the most reliable one, and the least risky one.
Although the profit may not be as high as for an alt which soon pumps, but in the long run it sure is gonna be the one with the highest value hence the best investment.
And element of risk is obviously present with bitcoin too, but when comparing to alts, its very minimal.

If you are asking with the durability of Bitcoin I will tell you that it survive for more than 8 years now and it is going strong every year because developers is keep on upgrading in despite of bad events that is happening with it. And if you may ask the safest maybe Bitcoin is the right choice because it is the pioneer of crypto currency in my own opinion because who comes first that remains strong enough is reliable for me.

But at the end of the day it still your own decision and feelings with it, self research and study of every potential crypto currency is the best for me.

I agreed with this before anything else one should have a thorough knowledge towards bitcoin first, know a safe earning with it, the safest wallet that you can provide with bitcoin, the safest trading to make with your bitcoin and always read the news on whats happening or what is about to happen with bitcoin, because that is the key to keep you inform with the movement of bitcoin, then now you can surely put something in other Cryptocurrency for other kinds of earning.

And if you are just about to invest in bitcoin today just wait until August 1 if what's gonna happen with the price of bitcoin because no one really know if bitcoin gonna split or increase so you can have a further insight in what to do.

just think about this, bitcoin can't die anymore because it's sustained by japan already, no other coin is sustained by a whole country like that, so it's much stronger than any pump and dump coin

besides only ETH have some reasons to be considered a contender, other coin have no real volume to compete with bitcoin

Other cryptocurrency also good to invest though, it's depend on the market itself. In my opinion bitcoin is not always safe to dump your money into it. Especially Segwit is really coming soon and by looking at the price of bitcoin right now, careful about that.

It is the strongest. It has the most hash power making it very secure, the developers are among the best in all of cryptocurrencies and it still has a lot of room for developing further.

The negative part is the politics. There is too much infighting and too much drama from within the community. The group of people that will destroy Bitcoin are the people from within.

If you plan to invest, wait for what happens after August 1.

No problem at all , if your investment is in the Bitcoin then I don't think that there is anything that will result into loss because once you will invest and if once the price get down then you don't need to worry much because the price will again get jump surely .
So there is 0% risk to invest in Bitcoin .
Allover if you invested in the Bitcoin then you can use your Bitcoin to increase by amount more in the trading .
Since trading is a risky job but still there always remain chances to get your investment back with the return of lot of profit ( may be can take one year , as in my case for the investment in the doge coin )  .
So overall not a risky thing but a special thing to understand and wait until you get profit in suitable amount .

Yes.Out of all crypto currencies,bitcoin is the pioneer.It works on a secured block chain system.It is a decentralized currency and so it could not be controlled by any banks or governments.It has investors world wide and it is even legalized in japan.Its price is expected to rise high after segwit activation.So it could be bought with confidence.

If that is the case, then there wont be a generally accepted parameter because every other interest in alt coin is based on subjectivity i.e depending on where each individuals aligned to and sometimes could be on the basis of the coin developed. In short the bulk of the work will be done by you in analsying various suggestions put forward because the ultimate decision rests on you which means the outcome whether positive or negative will also be borne by you. Dont be lazy to do your won research.

Bitcoin is a digital currency with a high volatility, that means it has no certain price and it changes every single minute. So if you will be putting your money unto bitcoin, you must accept the fact that it will not be having a good profit because as I said, it changes it's price, maybe having a dump or a pump. But if you will be investing your money and wait for a certain amount of time, I think it will be worth it.

Generally speaking I think that cryptos are only going to become more important in the future, and bitcoin is well-placed to be one of the most valuable. Having said that, in the short term it may continue to drop, so if you're looking to buy and make a profit short-term it might not work out. Long-term it's as solid as they come.

All the altcoins , including the highly used nowadays, are depending in the Bitcoin, and the bitcoin's potential is a lot more promising than all the other crypto currencies. Thats why i believe investing in Bitcoin is always the first choice. But you can diversify your investment if you will start with good budget.
