I am brand new when it comes to mining so I need some guidance here to mine ETH.

So can we use gpu of nvidia and amd on single mother board, say for eg, 3 1070 and 3 rx580/480/470 etc on single rig? Will there be any compatibility issue?

How many gpu can we attach on a single motherboard before the problem arise?

Windows 10 accepts 8 video cards per driver, which means, 8 nvidia and 8 amd, however you will have to choose which one will be primary or if you want you go with intel or amd integrated gpu but then you will need a cross driver software to control them.

Ok thanks for the info. Its seems little complicated to me. I guess I'll stick with the same driver.

Can we run different nvidia cards like 1060, 1070 and 1080 on a single mobo? I am planning to use MSI z270 gmaing pro carbon.

Yes. Nothing stops you using different GPUs in the same MB.

There is actually a 12 GPU mobo that just came out recently.. You would have to run Linux to use all 12 slots though. As they said above, max for Windows is 8 GPU's.

Yes you can and it's super easy. Install all cards. Install both drivers. Done.

Windows makes it easy to mix-and-match different GPUs - at a cost in stability.
