Can someone please explain me it in simple and better words?

I have read somewhere, That do not spend your Bitcoin on 1st August, Do not keep your Bitcoins like things?
It would be really appreciated if you teach me about it.

- there are many threads to discuss on same topic  , you should continue your discussion in them rather than opening new thread.

- Segwit2x is supposed to be activated on august 1st which might trigger split of bitcoin network.
- There is no simple words to explain the possible chaos we might see on that day.

- You can keep your bitcoins safely in addresses which is under your full control (you own their private keys)

I think there will nothing happen in the 1st August, I don't know why this rumor has become viral on this site. you have to believe at first what you want to do then you have to start your journey, so bitcoin is a great ship which will carry you in a profitable land. so you have to believe in bitcoin. bitcoin will remain same year after year...
so don't be afraid of any rumor...
