Every single bitcoiner that haven't discover/bought btc by that time is thinking the same way. All, are full of regret that they could be rich by now. Well, we can't turn back in the past. Just work harder and smarter in crypto so that you can still achieved being rich.

I expect btc to sky rocket if the 1.8 changes go through without a hickup..

I don't think a person who bought $5 of bitcoin could have waited until bitcoin gets $2,500 or above. The person who bought for low prices, would probably sell it after he gets x2 or x5 let's say.

It is too far away from the current time we are into right now. But if that is the real equivalent of bitcoin for the current time, it is such a great upset that we are unable to buy some as you say 7 years ago. But it is no doubt right now because bitcoin is still pumping its price a great indication that bitcoin is still improving its price value as time pass by.

As you said most people probably would have sold their bitcoin shortly after buying them when they gave a good price

I know, I know... but the thing is I cannot help it because even though I am an absolute gentleman... I also happen to be a CheekyChappy after all:)

That's  incredible and it also saddens my heart that I didn't take the hints rather seriously when I first heard of Bitcoin then. I might have been a self made millionaire too.

very few people actually believed in bitcoin when price was this low but this is good motivation for most of us that missed this chance to become millionaires by investing in bitcoin now! Fingers crossed hope it wont take another 7 years to make peoples dream become a reality

I think it is smart to just try to buy 1000 - 10000 coins of all cheap coins which have a good usecase.
I am personally doing this on ETH, ETC, Dash, Zcash, accumulating slowly on the dips (like the ones 2 days ago)

But the issue here in essence is that not many people bought 7 years ago that still have their lot till today. Those who were lucky to have bought then, would have sold if not all larger percentage of what they have in the various ups and down that have been witnessed in the last 7 years so in essence tracing back memory lane, there is hardly any one who would have bought at 5$ and would be that rich today. We might have but will be very scanty.

I've known about Bitcoin for so long but never actually thought about investing in it. I regret my decision, but I'm in it now and and I still see huge potential for it. I believe that in the next 7 years it'll make huge gains.

If everybody had known then we would all have been rich... Dont stress it, you are not the only one.

I think such topics are useless because it make people just feel regret about their previous behaviors. Instead i think the best thing is working for the future and holding as much as we can of bitcoins, and altcoins.

It is easy to say things after the fact. If you game heads or tails. "I should have said heads not twils then I would be rich" easy to say after it happened. I think most people who still have bitcoins from then forgot about them. Or just though it is not worth selling them all so sold some at a time.

I want to know how many people this happened to. Very interesting bit we can never know. It is fin to guess.  Roll Eyes

Correct, and if you used Gavin's old faucet that paid 5 bitcoins per claim, You would be a millionaire if you claimed a bunch of claims, Of course we are looking in hindsight now, since there is no way people accurately predicted bitcoin to rise to $3000 at that time (in a reasonable and evidence-based way not random predictions).

You can do this now with some new alt coin project if you get in very early and don't sell prematurely. But it's definitely hard to time the right moment. There are always opportunities though so yeah you need to get lucky  Grin

To my mind luck is also important factor. Read forum's old threads and posts, users were sending 10 and more btc so easily, sometimes as a gift but now no one will do that because 10 bitcoin is really huge amount of money and at that time, it was just some usd. If anyone knew that bitcoin's price would so high, believe me, those people wouldn't send so much bitcoins so easily.

You don't even realize how many opportunities like this one are passing under your nose. There were so many new companies on the stock market that multiplied their value over the years, you just had to put your money in the right place. I remember back in the day euro was worth much less than dollar, like half of it, and a few years later we had the opposite situation, dollar went down and was worth 0.5€, now they are worth almost the same, so if you knew that and wisely converted your money, you could have multiplied it.
Which companies mate?  there is no such a thing as investing in said companies or stock market that could be made as easy as investing

On Bitcoin, if you were to take advantage over dollar vs euro you'd be needing millions or even billions to earn a decent profit, what ever

Investment opportunity there is in the world none of them could give you more than %5000 in 7 years and even if they could it wasn't

Something as open and being internationally reachable like BTC. even now it's out there in the open for grabbing, many people still think

Bitcoin is some kind of investment tool all the times talking about risks, they don't get it or are using it the wrong way, it's a bank with

No headquarters while it's a currency as well with no government to print it.
Do you really want me to point a finger? Haven't you heard of companies that became big from scratch, like Apple? 1980s Apple shares costed $0.5 and rose to $150 20 years later. Google went from $50 to almost $1000 in 7 years. There's so many chances at making money all around us, BTC being just one of them.
I know it went much higher than those companies, but it was also less known. I personally never heard of it until the rise in 2013, but by that time i've heard of Apple and Google.

Yes, the element of luck is also involved as well. Bitcoin was unknown that time and who wouldn't invest in them? Nada. Only a few maybe, but I  think they already sold it during the bubble of 2013. So I don't think there are still people who are holding bitcoin for that long time. As you can see some are sending 10 btc like peanuts before, because they don't know that bitcoin will reach this far.

Sure, everyone knows you can't change anything about the past, but it is still fun and interesting to think about what coulda, woulda, shoulda been. As long as you don't dwell on it too much or let the regret of not buying/not buying more weigh you down.

Just like back then, the key is what you can do now in the present, given what you know now and what are you going to do with that knowledge now. If you do the best/make the best decisions and plans now with the knowledge and resources you have right now, then ten, twenty years from now when someone makes a similar thread as this one, you can say you have no regrets.

Yes but nobody can predict the future and 7 years ago I still didn't know that Bitcoin exist, so no need to calculate the things that we won't owned, it is better to focus on the present and the future, we still can get profit from Bitcoin and alt coin, now we need to focus on how much and how long do you dare to invest on crypto currencies

You're right. There should be no regret,no ifs and buts.Of course it's very clear that you'll be a millionaire now if you have done buying 7 years ago.But your knowledge about that will help you pursue your goal now.Because i'm sure there is only one common goal for everybody and that is to become rich.So when that moment will happen again,we know already what to do.
