Hi folks! What's happened with our beloved Polo? It does not receive payments in ETH / ETC. Zec wallet is disabled for a long time (but at other exchanges it works well). But the last line was yesterday when I withrdawed 3 ETH to another wallet I got .... FAKE payment ID,  Shocked (i checked the etherchain no transactions with such id). Im a litle bit shocked. What's going on?? We'r moving to the greatest scam of this year, the major non -asian crypto exchange has the featurs of some stupid HYIP project.
Mb anyone know what's going on?? Huh

Quite reminiscent of Cryptsy's clever tricks to avoid paying their users, which happened a month or so before they vanished.

To be honest I doubt the intelligence of anyone who has read through the many recent complaints about slow withdrawals from Poloniex and still thinks it's a good idea to keep their coins in there.  Unfortunately, most people won't have had the opportunity to read those threads, and could have some serious problems if Poloniex goes 100% to shit.

If you can get through the agonising process of contacting support without even having a trollbox for them to be vaguely accountable, I suggest Bittrex, or ideally a decentralised exchange.

It's not that I support the idea of keeping coins inside exchanges, I'm actually totally against it. But why? I mean Poloniex has the highest trading volume, they charge fees (3 BTC = ~7000$) for each coin they add, they have fees for withdrawal, exchanging etc. If they are running for several years, It only means that It's profitable for them so why leave all that and steal users funds? It doesn't look logical to me. Greed, that much?

The bitcoin fork is coming soon, I believe that educated people a little bit on how they shouldn't store their funds on exchanges and that should be valid for altcoins as well. As for your situation @OP, try to contact the support and see how things goes from there, If the trollbox is not disabled (It was, last time I checked) try to speak with moderators for faster answer.

Anything could happen in that mad world. Look back at Lemab Brothers. They were at least real people. But where would you chase that "aircastle" exchange if you don't know even their adress nor the owner or CEO or any person. Undecided MB all that crap somehow related with forthcoming SegWet, hope so...

It looks strange to me as well, but Cryptsy and Mt. Gox have proven me wrong in that regard.  I mean Cryptsy were a pretty serious exchange but they just almost-scammed people for a while, then straight-up scammed them later.  Poloniex is currently almost-scamming people, it seems - whether or not they will actually pull an exit scam I don't know, but it doesn't exactly look very safe as it is.
The bitcoin fork is coming soon, I believe that educated people a little bit on how they shouldn't store their funds on exchanges and that should be valid for altcoins as well. The trollbox is disabled.  I would argue that the main reason for it is that it was completely full of complaints about not getting withdrawals or support.  This way they're not so accountable for their actions and people can convince themselves it's okay.

I canot log into my account on Poloniex. I'm only registered with them, don't have any funds in the account, nothing. I've reset the password twice and tried to unsuccessfully log in again. Been trying to log in for 2 days now.

The exact same thing could be said about Cryptsy. No one thought they would callapse, but look now their is a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit to get back all the millions of dollars that people got stolen from them.

Never, ever trust exchanges to keep your coins safe. It is absolutely not smart in any way, shape or form. Bitcoin is currently like the Wild, Wild West. Law enforcement into these issues is practically non-existent. Scamming is extremely easy given there is no way to get Bitcoins back after you send them.

We need to be very careful about putting coins in public wallets and exchanges for the next 10 or 20 years until adequate security measures are created in order to stop these sorts of things from happening as they do today.

They are having these issues for a long time now and they have disabled Zcash wallet on July 7 and they never gave an official explanation, something is going on with the site for sure, their customer support is not that good either,it is a good thing to avoid the site altogether until they get their things together.

That's not the main reason, as you can see on the notice table that gives you a complete explanation why polo disabled the trollbox.
Quote
To meet the increasing demands on support staff, the Trollbox has been disabled indefinitely and moderators have been reallocated to assist in support.
So the moderators on the trollbox already moved to the support to make the polo team can handle the more complaint from the users.  But looks that were useless, The support is really worst right now comparing with the bittrex.

I don't know what going on with Poloniex as I don't use this website but it doesn't look good to use currently.
In the "Service discussion" sub forum there are an incrasing number of topics about different problems. Still waiting their withdraws, no reply to support tickets, etc.

until they announce it all of us still puzzled as the support really taking a lots of time before making some actions, I already stop using it right now
and move my coin to trex since they don't have any issue or serious issue yet, but like one of our mate said polo already got established business
I'm not sure if they greed to scam if they already have good source of earnings just hosting the trade.

Poloniex is already messed up and I will suggest everyone to move their coins out of their wallet to remain in safe side from any possible disaster they might have. I think they will go through lot more mesh after activation of segwit2x on august if there will be hardfork after activation.  Angry

the risk of poloniex or any other exchange turning into a scam has not changed at all. they all have the same risk (maybe more for some and less for some others) but they all have this risk of turning into a scam and run away. and sadly there is nothing we can do about it if we want to use their services and trade on their platforms.

the only thing that has changed is that poloniex has turned into a terrible service. they used to respect their "customer" but they no longer seem to care, which is probably because they are earning a lot of money that losing a couple of unsatisfied customer does not matter for them at all even if they are bringing a large amount of profit for them.

Let us not spread FUD until we have strong proof against them. Yes, they ve been having problems, that s obvious. If you re not comfortable holding coins there, withdraw them. But dont call them or even wish for them to crash. Cause having a major exchange crash at this time when crypto world is big time shaky would send coin prices way, way, WAY down.

Which one of us would benefit from this?

None of us will win, but I still don't want to be the owner of a Titanic ticket. At the moment we have some negative facts, which would be preceded by the dramatic events

- They have gone through series of DDOS attacks.

- Many people got their balance wiped out when market crashes dramatically on the time of DDOS.

- They have promised to compensate all the losses due to those dramatic crashes.

- They got lots of tickets that's why they have stopped their troll box to move moderators to support with ticket.

Now they are having withdrawal issues, all this have just created panic among polo traders. Now I have finally moved all my coins into other exchange platforms and in my own wallets from poloniex.  Wink

Wink

what bank are they using?
