Dmitry Bivol did a good job there frustrating and defeating Canelo Alvarez. He deserves the win. He is a real champion. He was composed all throughout the fight. He was simply 100% focused on the job. I was amazed at how disciplined Bivol was not just during the fight itself but before the fight as well as after the fight.

I was thinking the man was planning to counter Canelo's power and skills with just a 1-2 combo. It was all wrong. Bivol could throw 5, 6, 7 powerful straights.

A big congratulations to those who trusted and bet for Bivol.

I didn't watch the whole card, I only tuned in for the main event. I don't always watch Canelo, as I don't really particularly like his personality, and I find him to have a bit of a ego, without actually being that entertaining in person. Obviously, a good boxer, and likes to test the waters. However, I honestly thought he was outclassed last night, and the score cards were embarrassing, as it definitely wasn't that close. They had it 115 - 113, right? Impossible, I had Bivol with at the very least eight rounds.

Yeah, same as what I see in the match, and before it was announced, I was thinking that this could have been a robbery because the score was very closed.

I think the step up for Canelo was a bit too much, and he probably goes back down after this. I do admire his ambition to unify multiple divisions though. I'll always respect when a fighter doesn't just fight anyone that pays the wages, and instead challenges themselves. However, I thought he was thoroughly outclassed on the night, and was left frustrated, and without too many ideas.

He bit more than he can chew here, he messes with one of the best champion in the Light Heavyweight division, Bivol was obvious different from Kovalev. And I think Canelo will have to go down, he looks tired in the 12th round, first time I have seen him without gas, maybe the added weight was too much for his 5'8 frame.

There are reports that he might exercised his rematch clause that fuck up his trilogy with Canelo.

Bivol though has the option to wait for the winner of Beterviev vs Smith instead of fighting Canelo immediately.

I like what the commentator said during the few seconds before the bell rang and already knows what will be the result of the match was:

"DID WE UNDERESTIMATE DMITRY BIVOL?"

Those commentators already have a sneak peek of what will be the result as Canelo is struggling throughout the match. They even pointed out that it was the first time they saw Canelo in fatigue which is not in his vocabulary.

Bivol is patient, doing jabs carefully while having a good defense. He is not aggressive but just patiently waiting for the right timing to land a punch. That made Canelo disappointed and become upset and as a result, he began to lose focus and Bivol takes advantage of it.

This match proves that never depends on how big the name is to determine the winner like what others do here.

Clearly the answer is yes hehehe. Everyone was trusting much of the media hype on Canelo. In his weight division, yes he is the king, however, he is not Pacman. Also, I know I am not always correct in my predictions, however, it would help everyone as a bettor[/b] to be skeptical of any article or news that any mainstream sports media publishes. Many news writers are paid for by someone to spread hype, this very much similar to cryptonews media during ICOs hehehehe.

Bivol reminds me of the undefeated multi-divisional champion Joe Calzaghe. Big ups to Canelo for stepping up to the challenge. Bivol was calculated and unafraid, he kept his composure throughout the fight and never really let Canelo gain the confidence he needed to let his hands go. It was a great fight, always is when you have two men in there with so much respect for the sport and as talented as they are. As for a rematch, I’d be interested to see what kind of game plan Canelo would come back with, but if i were his camp, I’d probably just take this one on the chin and move on.

Bivol though has the option to wait for the winner of Beterviev vs Smith instead of fighting Canelo immediately.

He is the champion, he beat Canelo once and he can still make good money if he fights Canelo, so for sure he would go with the rematch. We saw how he dominate the fight and yet Canelo's camp cannot accept a defeat and they want a rematch, so wish granted for them and they should not expect a different result in fight number 2.

The following boxing match showed that weight categories in boxing are created not just to be. Respect to Canelo for fighting top fighter in light heavy. When Canelo gained - he has lost his main advantage - speed, when Bivol was on his field with speed and power. Conclusion - when two top fighters meet, skill is not enough to win.

And this is where the money is, so Bivol can take this right away, earn good money while battering Canelo again for full 12 rounds.

If I'm Canelo though, I will just stick my nose to the weight class that I'm more familiar and dominant instead of chasing Bivol in a division wherein it was obvious not his. Canelo's camp should be why not to let him lose a fight against Bivol. Or better yet, as promised to us boxing fans, go for GGG trilogy, win that fight and move on.

I agree that Canelo should stick to his weigh category. Canelo beat Kovalev and though that it is now easy to beat guys in this category.

Lets look on Kovalev - he had a hard fight against Yarde. He has got about 2 months to prepare to a fight against top boxer. Is 2 months enough to prepare for Canelo? Boxers have 1-2 fights per year. But Kovalev got little time.

Next, have you seen Bivol showing bruises on his right arm biceps? Canelo was emphasizing every punch, he was loaded for a KO. That works only for your weight class. But when you face a boxer that is heavier than you and he moved - such tactics fails.

Where is old Canelo? He used to land combinations. What I saw was slow single heavy punches, a combo of few punches rarely. Wtf Canelo was doing? Pretending to be single punch knockout boxer?

I'm locking this thread for good.

We have seen the Canelo might have  "biting off more than you can chew" attitude.

So Bivol defeated him, opening doors for maybe a unification fight at LHW.

While there is a rematch clause, we will have to wait if Canelo will exercise it, but according to him he is willing to have a second fight. And this could jeopardize the anticipated trilogy with GGG.
