I just ran wireshark on the yacoin client I downloaded a few hours after launch. I do not see any connections made to that IP given in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=202070.0 on startup, while running, or on shutdown. Fiddler also shows nothing. IF this is true, perhaps the file could have been compromised at a later date?

...because even 5-6 guys yelling about it on a forum does not make it proof. ...because it doesn't add up that YAC has been running widespread for 3-4 days and only just this morning is there any problem. ...because the smell around here feels like orchestrated YAC attack FUD campaign.

I'm just curious, why did all this start today whilst the client has been available for days?

I ran yacoind on a linux machine I use only for mining ... it doesn't store my important wallets (I have it on my personal PC from which I ssh to the miner). I think I'm safe?

Because you would program it to trigger on a certain day/time. If it tried to steal it immediately the first time it was run it would have been detected before many people had installed it. By delaying the bitcoin stealing you give the coin time to get traction, you get all the people on the free YaCoin giveaway thread to install the client and in the end you steal more wallets.

Piece of advice, when making serious claims do not spell "your" as "UR".

My bitcoins were sent to this address Give us the private key of the address that was compromised then, to prove that you own the address that sent BTC to the accused. Since the address is already compromised it shouldn't matter if you post it here.

You're boned. Nobody is going to use Yacoin after this. I don't care about Yacoin, I had just 200 anyway.

My wallet is fine... also who's to say it isn't another program. Unless you are running only that program in a closed off VM or sandbox, you need more proof. Now I know you weren't running it in a VM or Sandbox because your bitcoin wallet was accessible ><.
