Has anyone had much experience of trading BTC in the UK?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. Hybrid server-assisted clients like Electrum get a lot of their network information from centralized servers, but they also check the server's results using blockchain header data. This is perhaps somewhat more secure than either server-assisted clients or header-only clients.

Yeh, I've just starting looking at bitbargain and done a couple of trades now. Seems to have gone smoothly so far.

Another option might be to buy / sell with someone local in the Bitcoin "over the counter" marketplace - http://bitcoin-otc.com/

Not too keen on mtgx, would prefer to build up trading in the UK if possible.
