Perhaps retailers accept bitcoin when government legalized using on it. Depends upon the mass who give's trust in accepting bitcoins they are the keys to bring it to the top, As a democratic country the voice of the majority are the most powerful means to decide the legalization of this matter.

maybe next year or in 2019-2020 we will have a lot of sellers who accept payment by bitcoin, bitcoin is in the stage of slowly being famous around the world, lets just wait and everyone will notice it since the prediction next year with its value might rose up to 10k$ or even more.

I hope so. That is one og the major problem of bitcoin. Lacking in merchants and also those shops that accepts bitcoin as a currency. This should be changed fast. There have been many coins that are being created and they might see it as a better one in terms of payment rather than bitcoin. It could be popular but after that users could be directed to another crypto like ETH, and LTC.

I think more retailers will accept bitcoin if its value will be more stabilized. Especially now that the value is deflating every day. So maybe more retailers are still waiting on what will happen after the hard fork. Retailers are businessmen who are not ready to risk when it comes to transacting with bitcoins. They will need more time to be convinced to accept btc. It's good to invest in bitcoin if you are investing for long term but retailers need cash to run their business.
in simple terms the retailers will accept if bitcoin price is low so that their capital is low, then sell then when the time that the demand is high and the price is high.

It doesn't matter if how much is their capital because the acceptance of bitcoin is not dependent in the capital of the retailer because even the owner is not a big time then he can still accept bitcoin because they don't need to spend some money in bitcoin for accepting and they just need to create a bitcoin wallet then that is what they need for accepting bitcoin.

No one knows, maybe the next year more countries will accept bitcoin on their retailers. To be honest it's hard to motivate retailers to accept bitcoin because the price of bitcoin that can easily decrease. The bitcoin price is fall right now, imagine if the retailers accept bitcoin, the price will always changed because of that.

As more and more people are becoming aware of bitcoin and more and more people are investing in it. It has come under th government's notice. Many retailers have actually started accepting bitcoins in comparison to the past. I think if not all but soon most of the retailers are going to accept bitcoins.
That there are lots of stores and commercial establishments using bitcoin in Japan doesn’t mean that they are the only ones that does it. Other (not all) does the same thing, so not only Japan. The difference is that there large number of them in Japan than in other countries. In my country there are few of them, if I might say.

Maybe more retailers will start accepting Bitcoin when Bitcoin became legal in our respective countries and when people are known of what is Bitcoin, its advantages and disadvantages, how to use them, how to trade them and how to handle them.
Isn't once bitcoin become legal currency in one country does bitcoin still decentralize? it just came up into my mind because the government of each country as we all know was being categorize in centralization. I think that if some country announces that Bitcoin is now the legal currency, then I think it will remain no longer Decentralized. It will automatically come under the control of Government of that country. You may also need to pay taxes and all the stuff which the Government will ask for.

We should ask businesses if they accept Bitcoin as payment so they will consider doing so. The more customers that ask for it, the more likely they are to consider accepting it as payment. Since Bitcoin is not a business, there's really no one else to advocate for it so we have to be more proactive in order to help Bitcoin become a mainstream method of payment. It can work but we all need to make some effort to get the word out.

Retailers mainly expect two things for accepting bitcoin widely as payment. They mostly expect it to be legalized so that they could accept it with confidence.Secondly, volatility of bitcoin price is a big issue for them. But we saw in japan after legalization, most of retailers readily accepted bitcoin and now around 250,000 retailers are accepting bitcoin payment. They have not even considered about volatility. So its clear that if bitcoin gets legalized in all countries,it would be accepted by retailers all over the world.
People will learn to deal with volatility, the easiest way to do that is to cash out your bitcoin as soon as you get the payment that way you will not give time to the volatility of bitcoin to make you lose money, however I’m sure that some retailers will be willing to roll the dice and see if they can get even better profits by holding for some time the bitcoin they earn.

in my opinion there are a couple of things that are preventing retailers from accepting bitcoin: 1. people who own bitcoin are a lot but people who are willing to spend bitcoin are very little. this means the possibility of little to no customers. 2. price is volatile still. it has been becoming less volatile but we can see drama like blocks and split can cause bigger volatility again! 3. fees. although they have come down ever since spam attack stopped but if they go up again and remain high people will be even less willing in spending their coins. 4. things such as chain split. which are scary and nobody wants a scary currency when there is fiat.
when these change, more retailers will accept bitcoin.
You said it well. In Japan, there are now many merchants who are all ready to accept Bitcoin but sales are not yet burgeoning as expected because we all know that Bitcoin has become a speculative tool. I am sure that there would come a time when this can be reversed...we just have to wait since Bitcoin is right now still evolving. Yes, in time bitcoin will be accepted by retailers all over the globe just like how they normally accept fiat currency right now. This can happen in may be 10 years or 20 years only time can determine this because people have to adapt bitcoin, how to use it and more.

If we compare the knowledge of bitcoin last 4 years when I don't know what it is to late last year, we would see that there have been progress on the awareness of bitcoin. So, the usage and acceptance of bitcoin stems from the its awareness and I see that most people are getting to know about it. Soon the awareness will increase more and it will have a positive effect on the acceptance.
Awareness is not enough we need to make people more incentivized to use bitcoin, at the beginning people accepted bitcoin because of the low fees but now that the fees are very high they have decided against it, we need the fees to go down once again that way if a bitcoin transaction is half of the fee of paypal and similar services people will see the benefit of using bitcoin and massive adoption will happen.

I guess stability of bitcoin must be realized so that more often retailers will accept btc. Gaining precise amount ,are the best factor to consider because retailers will enable to give specific idea, if they have something to trade. Whereas if it seems fluctuating all day, and we don't know what gonna happens next, something like no assurance since it is not legally recognized by Gov't, there's a tendency people will used to doubt their holdings and wait for the next upcoming days to fulfill their wants.

I could say that majority of internet user only use their internet for stupid things, not trying to be edgy but that's true. I always see such social media website is few times more popular than educational site, no wonder.

Here in the Philippines, according to my husband, some of 7-11 chains already accept bitcoin. The purchase should be with a minimum amount 100php or 10USD. This is a convenience and with this, I hope that more establishments will be more open to accepting bitcoin as payment. It will definitely rank with those express payment systems major banks are offering.

It will be a good thing if more retailers would accept bitcoin as payment transaction but herr in our country it would take many years before the retailers or the whole country can adopt the world of crypto currency. Not all residents of country do knows that bitcoin exists they do not even know it. None of my friends knows about it and some saw only bitcoin on the net but they never actually show interest on it. So it would take years before bitcoin would be established in this country.
