Well the problem is not on the tax right now. To be honest if bitcoin had a consumption tax associated with it, it would be impractical for merchants and consumers to use it. The fees are just to high right now, so a tax associated with it would completely smother bitcoin normal use, and Japan does not want that. When will we see more retailers accepting bitcoin? I think that will only happen when the fees are lower and the transactions are faster. It will happen, but I don't think it will be in a near future. Right now, the best strategy is buy and hold in my opinion, and maybe buy a few expensive things with it, but not common things.

Thats nice move to Japans market of retailers. It will be more convenient for the bitcoin holders in Japan to do buying using bitcoin in the retailers. But i think it would take so many years before other countries could do that because not all countries are open with the idea of using bitcoin in the retail shops maybe in the future.

In fact they move bitcoin to retailer because they turn bitcoin as legal currency, in fact in our own ares most of the people even do not have any idea about itcoin therefore they are not going to use bitcoin as currency and even not accepting bitcoin for currency. i think in our area still people need a lot of knowledge and introduction about bitcoin so that they become aware about bitcoin and about its use.

Bitcoin will be accepted worldwide by max retail merchant in next few years. It is required one because of the advantage of Bitcoin.
Things will be very much changed in the coming few years and coming years will bring so many good news for the ones who are dealing with bitcoin. This is what I think about bitcoin. I am very much confident that it will not take much time for the retailer to start accepting bitcoins. They will be happily accepting bitcoin very soon. They are just observing the behavior of bitcoin right now.

Looks a lot of country already tried to make a deal with the bitcoin and there are some retailers are thinking to accept the bitcoin as the payment. as you can see the bitcoin grow everytime. This seems to be a good news for all.

I think there are plenty of countries that are starting to accept bitcoin as a payment so lets just be all patient and wait for the time that all countries in the world will adopt bitcoin and then we can see the result. Japan is starting to accept bitcoin as a payment and that is a good step and a very good news to our community.

Yes a lot of countries are accepting bitcoin right now, but it does not depends on countries, more big brands and bussiness needs to start accepting bitcoin in order to make it more famous, that is the only way that more shops will feel confident to start buying more bitcoins so they can spend it on shops or malls. So obviously it needs more promotion in several media, and if big brands start accepting it, then more people will want to buy.

"Japan: No Bitcoin Tax, Thousands of Stores to Accept the Cryptocurrency" article published July, 5, 2017 https://edgylabs.com/2017/07/05/japan-no-bitcoin-tax-stores-accept-cryptocurrency/"AirRegi is a widely used, tablet-based point-of-sale app in Japan. Currently, around 260,000 establishments, stores, and commercial facilities use this proprietary app to accept payments from their clients." It makes sense that a transition to accept bitcoin would be underway for more US-based stores. It would be an adoptive strategy as Japan retailers accepts bitcoin as payment Bitcoin will be more established and many people will be try to adopt the currency to go on with the flow of the market and for them not to be out dated. But it would consume a lot of years for all other countries to be able to use bitcoin in the retailer shops that would still depends on the government approval.

It could lead to cashless society in the near future.

I understand what you are saying but it does depend on countries as well. Countries need to regulate bitcoin, in order to ensure merchants and costumers feel safe when doing business in bitcoin. This kind of measure to incentive bitcoin use, is incredibly important for both merchants and consumers. And yes you are right, it depends on merchants and big companies to start adopting bitcoin and offering that option for buyers, but it also depends in us, consumers to start using that option. Most people just use bitcoin for trade and don't really do anything with it. It also depends on the network itself. Right now it's impractical to buy cheap stuff with bitcoin because of it's fees. So in the end, it depends on a lot of things combined, so it will take a while, but I'm confidant we will get there.

Great job for Japan for leading the way in adopting crypto currency in their country it is a good start because reatilers would accept bitcoin as payment transaction and it would be more convenient to bitcoin holders to do business using their bitcoin holdings. I hope other countries will follow this move of Japan but still it depends on the government of each country if they will implement the same procedure with Japan.

It's good to hear that Japan is taking bitcoin seriously and also supporting it at the same time, it's government is not like the others who are against bitcoin and are looking for ways to tax it. And it's the same in my country, it's so hard to live when you don't know that the income source is traceable or not and also the government also is taking so much time in declaring the status of bitcoin, at least they should tell the people about their thoughts or maybe give them an ETA on the day of announcing the decision.

Once bitcoin become legalized and fully supported by the governments, that's the time retailers accept bitcoin as a mode of payment. More retailers are doubt at this time because bitcoin is not regular used by most and it is not widely know by the people.

The general acceptability of bitcoin and other crypto currency is still a major problem because of the volatility of crypto currency values. If a particular store accept bitcoin today being Sunday and maybe before Monday evening the bitcoin value decline, that will affect the profit they must have made from the transaction negatively. Although, if bitcoin value move in the positive direction they will benefit.

It's because bitcoin is truly legal in japan, not just you I'm sure many of the bitcoin users want retailers accept bitcoin, I think we can only wait for other countries to follow japan by supporting bitcoin and legalizing it.

Bitcoin will be more accepted by more retailers in my country especially by those who have little business if the government or some powerful and influential will be the one to use and introduce bitcoin to the public. By now they are like the ordinary people who does not beleive in bitcoin so they are not using and accepting it in their life. Another reason is that not all people are using bitcoin so not all of their customers will pay them bitcoin. I also thinking that bitcoin has no fix price. If the price goes down so they can also get less money but anyway I do not know much in business maybe I have wrong predictions

Yes, it is the volatility of bitcoin that scares many people away for its adoption as a currency. I think it will be unprofitable for sellers to sell their goods if the bitcoin price drops rapidly.

Retailers will not accept bitcoin payment, because BTC confirmation time is too slow - up to one hour or so. Retailers need very fast confirmation time - up to 15 - 20 seconds. Shop cashier will not wait long time for one customer, especially if there are many customers in the queue behind.

I don't know the trajectory at which stores will be accepting bitcoin, but this is an element of mainstream acceptance that I am interested in. The more stores that accept the better

Now Amazon is gonna accept the bitcoin as a payment soon everyone will accept the bitcoin payment for sure with the trust and interest shown to the bitcoin. That's the reason segwit activation and block size increasing is happening. Soon confirmation time for bitcoin will be take place in a minute. Then everyplace you can find a board bitcoin accepted here.
