heeey dudes and dudettes, Green here Smiley

Been a while! I was wearing the Adex token signature for a while, couldnt comment on all the juicy, juicy dish coming out of DC at the moment. I'm going to get into DTJr's ass in a minute, in another thread, but right now i want to talk about something i came across a while back, that has been on my mind for some time.

Im Christian, yall know that. While I digest esoteric/occult knowledge to compare it and contrast it to CHristianity, I generally steer clear. I forget who, but a great man once said that knowledge is a commodity you cannot test before you try it. If someone gives you food, you can get it lab analyzed; if someone gives you a gift, you can have it inspected. But knowledge must be digested to be understood, and that consumption breeds the danger. If the knowledge is poison, its too late.

So with all that, I present to you the prophecy of one Baba Vanga (cited from dailymail, they are essentially a tabloid nowadays, but this is all over the place, look it up)

Quote
The blind psychic who predicted 9/11 and the rise of Islamic State has also forecast that Barack Obama would be the 'last US president'.
The woman who was known as 'Baba Vanga', and regarded as the 'Nostradamus from the Balkans', predicted correctly that the 44th President would be African-American.
But it's unclear what the Bulgarian-born Prophet - who died in 1996 aged 85, and who had an alleged prediction success rate of 85 per cent – meant when she said Obama would also be the last, Prophecies reports.
Obama technically remains president until Donald Trump is sworn in on January 20, 2017.
Baba Vanga prophesied that the 44th US president would be black and he would be 'the last one'. She went on, saying that at the time of his stepping into office, there would be a spectacular economic crisis.
'Everyone will put their hopes in him to end it, but the opposite will happen; he will bring the country down and conflicts between north and south states will escalate,' she said.
However, she also spoke of a Messianic personality, but left few clues to help recognise this 'peacemaker' who in her words 'will sign the lasting peace'.

now, I dont really ascribe to the occult, but I understand there is a truth in all things. this prophesy has always captivated me; you just dont predict the first Black President. and shes been right, more or less, about a few other things:

Quote
Vanga is said to have made hundreds of predictions in her lifetime, including that there would be a 'great Muslim war' which would start with the Arab Spring in 2010.

GLOBAL WARMING AND THE BOXING DAY TSUNAMI
In the 1950s Vanga reportedly predicted how 'a huge wave will cover a big coast covered with people and towns, and everything will disappear beneath the water'.
She also warned of the effects of climate change by suggesting 'cold regions will become warm... and volcanoes will awaken.'
'Everything will melt, just like ice,' she added.

THE 9/11 TERROR ATTACKS ON NEW YORK
In 1989, she is said to have made reference to the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.
News.com.au reports how she once said: 'Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. '
She added that 'innocent blood will gush.'

BARACK OBAMA BECOMING PRESIDENT
The pensioner once predicted that the 44th US president would be African American - but she also warned that he would be the 'last US president'.
LOOKING IN TO THE FUTURE
Vanga made predictions for the next few centuries before she died. Highlights include her warnings that aliens will help civilisations live underwater by 2130 and that there will be a war on Mars in 3005.
In another apocalyptic message, she said everything on earth will die by 3797 - but that by this stage humans should be capable of moving to a new star system.

LOL, a touch kooky, but interesting, nonetheless.

So, what do you guys think? Look her up, she has some interesting predictions (shes dead boss) but I believe her success rate is a little overblown by her followers.

Nah, fortune tellers get stuff right just as often that they get them wrong. You're better of just tossing a coin.

Besides, if you're Christian, you'd probably be wary of such stuff. I remember some Christians vehemently dismissing these stuff as demonic because of that story from the New Testament about the fortune-telling servant girl. And even if there's nothing sinister with these fortune-telling stuff, you can't really hope to do anything anyway. It's not like you can game it, right?

If you believe the Bible, things will happen and there's nothing you can do against it. Heck, trying to "soften the blow" might even be thought as lack of faith.

One thing that i can attest to is that these fortune tellers cant predict the future and fortune telling is attributed to demons, and whiles they make the prophecy, i believe that the demons are able to make things happen so that they eventually come through. They have the power to effect changes in the physical realm.

These are some pretty outlandish predictions.  It's one of those things where you can look at it and analyse the success rate, but it's a lot harder to look at it and analyse the actual logic behind the predictions or why they were made.

There are a lot of people who make vague predictions about the future and hope that they become true, and a lot who are wrong.  Naturally, there are going to be a small group of people who get some right against the odds, but this doesn't mean that the predictions were actually reasonable.

Even the success rate is questionable.  I mean, she said that aliens would help us live underwater - it's only 13 years from now, so it isn't looking too likely, is it?

I believe that the demons are able to make things happen so that they eventually come through. They have the power to effect changes in the physical realm.

I would rather see that happen than continuing to see our "leaders" continually screw things up for us.

Some fortune tellers are the real deal. They have real powers. Unfortunately, the fakes get all the press so everyone thinks they are all that way.

Here prediction is quite interesting. I'm quite fascinated by those fortune tellers like Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce and others. But as Christian as well, I tend to take everything with a grain of salt and not "believe" on those prediction. I think the prediction or any of the other important "prophecies" — until after they happened. It's only afterwards that the clues and vague words can be interpreted to fit history. All other prophets reputation is due to the ardent horde of his disciples who continue to hyperbolize, bowdlerize, and invent in order to perpetuate their fame.

I don't consider myself religious but that seem to be the opinion that the Bible take. Well, at least as what that New Testament story try to imply. Paul eventually got annoyed with the girl following and advertising them and so he exorcised her, also removing the "fortune-telling" ability.

Now whether occultists always really use demonic aid when performing tasks has been debated. The witch of Endor which summoned Samuel's spirit for example has been interpreted in various ways. Maybe the "spirit" was not really Samuel? (Why reprimand Saul though?). If it was him, does that mean the witch didn't use dark arts? Moses simply stated necromancy is an abomination but never said anything whether it works right or not.

I think you both have it. Demons would seem, under Christianity, to be the source of occult power. It seems you can ritualistically manifest your will one of two ways, through entreaty to the Lord via prayer, or through appeasement and ritual invocation of demons. i dont think demons can dick around on this side of the Veil without being asked to come; hence all the magic circle bullshit, invocation rituals and symbolic preparation required to perform occult magic. occult magic is real, if you define it as what it is; the ability to manifest ones will despite reality. we pray to have our wills advance, they cast in order to further theirs. this is most politicians, all confidence men, most successful business people. not demoniacs, but people that know how to make their wills reality, by knowing what to say and what to do to achieve their end. is not know what to "say and do" the essence of occult magic? a ritual, nonetheless.

investigations into Solomon, and his magic ring (its in the Apocrypha) that was able to command demons, will show that demons seem to serve specific functions, and have a limited scope of effect that the are relegated to. think of the word daemon and what it means in modern society. these things are like subroutines you can call up, if you know the right command line function, to get what you need done. but the Lord looks upon this type of 'black-hattery' with a very dim view, this shit gets you excluded from the Kingdom real quick.

The operating system does not approve Cheesy

and Christians forget that demons are a part of the Bible too Wink they didnt sneak in, the Lord put them there.

There are no demons. Fortune tellers are all the time. They are all crooks and I was very surprised that today people believe in this lie.
