I'd like to pay with BTC in a deep web site. The site itself is NOT illegal, but it's like a social networking site, there's all kind of people there.

1) What settings should I use in TOR browser?

2) Should I use a VPN in addition to TOR even if I am not into illegal activities (but deep web social networking)?

3) Any additional security advice?

Make sure to mix any coins that you send/receive in the deep web, so they won't get connected with your bank accounts that you use to purchase or sell Bitcoins. There are many mixing services, but if I were doing a deepweb transactions, I would go beyond that and mix my coins even further by purchasing coins with strong privacy features, like Zcash or Monero, running some transactions between my addresses, then converting them back to BTC and only then use it in the deep web.

But that's going to cost you quite a significant amount of Bitcoin because moving them around through conversions tend to make you loose some parts through transaction fees volatility and to me it isn't a fair price to pay for your security.

First and foremost click on the top left of the browser and make the security settings to highest. In the address bar type "about:config" hit yes and then type "javascript.enabled" and convert it to disabled or false. Make sure you have at least these settings like I said or you will be an easy prey for every hacker, spy agency etc. Using a VPN is always a good idea but better is to use a specific OS like Tails which is designed to be used in the deep web. You can create a new wallet to use only for deep web activities but make sure the coins you send there to be mixed first. A cheap way of doing so is depositing your coins to a casino website, play a few games (with low amount of bitcoin of course) and then from there withdraw directly to the wallet you use for deep web. This way you will retain your privacy. I know there is needed much more to be done but these are the basic first steps. And last but not least, never use Windows OS to reach the deep web cause no matter what security you uses, it can always be beaten. Things are different in Linux and Tails which is based on Linux.

Yes.  Ideally, you would have a paid VPN.  Personally I quite like TorGuard, but there are many others.  If you are not doing anything illegal though free VPNs can be okay, because you wouldn't need to be worried if they give logs to the authorities.

1) What settings should I use in TOR browser?
-You should try using the operating system Tails.
-Disable scripts to stop sites trying to track you.
-Keep your Tor window in the default size rather than enlarging it.
-Consider using software to help get rid of cookies.  Personally I don't bother with this part.
-Use a decent search engine, like Tor's default engine DuckDuckGo.
-Ideally, use Tor in a variety of locations (not essential).

3) Any additional security advice?
You should consider running your coins through a mixer before sending them to the site.

Also, please PM me the URL.  I'm interested in social networking on Tor.

Using vpn is good but don't use the free ones they don't hide much and there is still ways that you can be found out , buy a premium subscription from expressvpn or any other premium vpn out there.
Using tor is fine but you should different mixing sites and pay the highest fees to avoid any traces and don't use any online wallets as they keep record of all transactions.
If you find all this costly buy few xmr as they have encryption feature and no one can lookup to your address throught the explorer.

torbrowser hiding original ip address,Both of them are the best available privacy and anonymity protecting tools. Tor for browsing and Bitcoin for transaction. It becomes almost impossible to trace either of those things. Let us say that you surfed a deep web version of amazon to buy something illegal. You most certainly don't want to get caught in anyway. You use Tor to access that site, so the browser won't leave any trails or history or cookies. You found your product and want to buy it. Our normal secure banking can be easily traced. So, bitcoin, which uses a massively encrypted and mathematically complicated method of payment, helps you in keeping your payment safe, sound and untraceable.

Firstly, always use an onion browser, like TOR to browse the deep web. If you want some extra security, I would recommend getting a vpn, some of the good ones are express VPN, and they even accept bitcoin as a payment method. Say you found something worth 100 dollars on the deep web and you want to buy it, here are some of the steps you should do:

1. Open your Tor browser and turn on your VPN.
2. Use a mixing service, some of the big ones are Chipmixer and Bitmixer to mix your chips and then you will be super safe.
3. Buy the product.

Simple.

Definitely use a good VPN, not a free VPN but a premium one(as I've discovered that free ones do share your information when asked)
Secondly, yes use TOR browser.

And as advised above, using a mixer is also a good practice.
Good luck

Thank you! I discovered that I had most settings as you suggested until now too. But checking them didn't hurt.

I should really get a premium VPN soon. Also, some advice at Tails security could be useful. But that'll be a different thread, I guess.

Also, please PM me the URL.  I'm interested in social networking on Tor.

I really appreciated your post. I have sent you a PM with my URLs.
