First time seeing this thread and think its a fantastic idea! I wish I would have got in - 0.01 is pocket beans and would be fun to watch a pool. After scrolling through the thread it seems many other users are eager to be apart of this. I think your rep. would warrant 0.2 BTC (or more) under your control = 2nd pool. I think you should start another one running concurrently, possibly a shorter time frame though with a new spin on it;
6 month, 6 Person, 6 High Potential, High Risk Altcoin investment? I'd definitely go for it.
I like this idea. I would even be interested in upping the ante.. maybe 0.02-0.05. and with altcoins taking a dive, right now might be a great opportunity for some risk

If I do that, I'd like to only get altcoins which I can store by myself. Most likely on paper wallets, which means I need some means to move them out once the experiment ends. Installing 10 different wallets is a bit annoying, and I don't want to keep trusting exchanges anymore. and with altcoins taking a dive, right now might be a great opportunity for some risk Timing the market is pretty much impossible, crypto in general took a dive indeed, but it's still up a lot if you look at the last 12 months. For now, I stick to my plan: 4 months left in this experiment, so about 2 months from now I can open a new thread where people can show interest.

Multi Sig wallets could be a way of hoDling the coins without the need to install new wallets. Similarly a part public key generating a vanity wallet ie 1Loyceabc123etc... would be another way to go - even if the person generating the key is a participant, they can't benefit as only Loyce can install the generated key on his machine (for an alt coin under his control) - said key could be sent to a trusted escrow on the current Recommended bitcointalk escrow services list created by hedgy73 who only has to hold it for the 10/11/12/??? months and then forward it to Loyce on an agreed date 10/11/12/??? months hence. Similarly, if one or more of the participants has one of the alt coins in the latest round they could provide a part public key, have a vanity wallet generated (which is held by the escrow) and at the end of the round the generated key is sent to them to send the alt coin to Loyce's exchange address (eg Cryptopia) for that alt coin who will then sell up and divvy out the funds. The loss to the group if that person walks away with the altcoins is they have only received their own share back * - if Loyce doesn't receive their alt coins held then they don't get a cut of the rest of the group. QED. * and we get to splash the Red Paint TM on their Trust Wall Loyce would be buying the alt coins on an exchange, so he wouldn't be sending any alt coins to an address unless he was satisfied, the protections were in place ( part pub key and escrow holding part secret key etc) For practicality sake, only one alt coin can be held by one participant per round.
Just suggestions, take them or leave them.

Belated thanks for the April update, Loyce. The silver lining here is that, apart from the dollar appreciation that is, is that even this quarter's battering still leaves us in reasonable profit. Somewhat goes to show that diversification doesn't much affect portfolio since the market seems anchored to Bitcoin's fortunes.
I'd definitely join a second round, just enjoying the experiment. Pleased to see Peercoin is one of the handful to still be in the black. Thankless task to host this, though, and I'd rather you do what's easiest for yourself and leave the participants to either trust you or not.
Edit: my eyes fool me. PPC has lost ground.

Multi Sig wallets could be a way of hoDling the coins without the need to install new wallets. ~ For practicality sake, only one alt coin can be held by one participant per round. I'm not sure what this would solve: a multisig wallet reduces the chance that I can run away with the money, but I'll still need to install the wallets, and adding multisig makes that more complicated, while it adds the risk when up to 10 different parties need to keep their side of the deal after 10 months. Using an escrow for different altcoins makes it even more complicated. I'd rather just refer to this statement: Why trust me~ If this still isn't enough: thanks for reading, don't join The silver lining here is that, apart from the dollar appreciation that is, is that even this quarter's battering still leaves us in reasonable profit. Somewhat goes to show that diversification doesn't much affect portfolio since the market seems anchored to Bitcoin's fortunes. In hindsight, we should have started in Month 1, and ended in Month 3. That would have been 177% profit measured in Bitcoin in just 2 months. Oh well, that's all normal in crypto I'd definitely join a second round, just enjoying the experiment. I've added you to my unofficial waiting list. This is pure gold this monthly reports. I was sure that this investment in a big loss now and surprisingly you guys are still in profit dollar and bitcoin wise. FTFY

This is an easy money management method for preserve your initial investment and for take risk only on profits. Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not doing it. Apart from being more work for me, this would also mean we'd miss out on a potential big increase of an altcoin. Without doing the exact math, take Stellar Lumens (not included in this experiment) as an example. If you would have taken all profit every time it reached 20%, the total value would be much lower than it is now. I'm not trying to time the market, I already know I can't do that. It's kind of an all-or-nothing thing.

When I joined this experiment I thought it would be a fun bet to make, but I realize it is just that - a bet. It has been fun watching these coins so far (coins that I wouldn't have had so much fun watching otherwise!) and there's still a few months to go. Extending the experiment based on "advice" makes it seem like we are doing this strictly for financial gain. To me, at least, this is gambling; and wagering again will not always lead to financial gain. That isn't what I'm here for anyways. I'm here for a fun bet!

Hi there Loyce!
I've been following these monthly reports with great interest and trying to mimic some of the trades you've made. This month has been a little rough for a lot of people I think. Would you be able to add me to your waiting list too for the next round. Thanks in advance!
