Hello! My first post... but have been reading some time. Im looking for ASIC miner and it seems that currently only BFL offers those. I know it is unsure when I will receive it... but for me Avalon chip group buy and PCB assembly service from someone seems about same price, about same / unsure delivery time. Asicminer blades are far too expensive when auctioned. WTF I shoud do!?

The difference between the three ASIC choices you list is BFL has not shipped to customers yet.

Yes, I know, I have followed / read about BFL some time. However I not anymore worried about their technical ability to deliver 50Gh/s unit, but Im worried how long it will take. Actually I wish to order Avalon Batch 4 but haven't heard anything about it... so maybe its not anymore planned. So, it leaves only BFL on the table at the moment.

BLF has been spending money on redesigning there units, and other expenses for a long time now. Do they have enough money to make all the back ordered units.

You need to look into the wait for the BFL. That will put you off
Rubbish, people have only been waiting a year K.

I would consider buying something like this, but *only* when they are actually in stock and available with immediate shipping, so that I can make an accurate assessment of whether it is worth it or not based on the price being charged for the product. Otherwise, things can change too much before the product eventually arrives.

Yes, it seems that waiting might be the option There´s going to happen so much within two - three months... However, im afraid that at some stage it might be very hard to jump in the mining due to required investment. It seems that Im already late. No one knows - but if investing now 2500$ can get in and BCT back within few months great. It seems that by end of this year difficulty is sky high compared to the current. No on knows ASIC prices then. There must be many in the same situation.

Well, I can (pitifully) mine for free. I don't pay for electricity, and even if I did, I'm just using a Mac Mini 2011 (the model with the dedicated video card) which is very low power. Horrible mining rate, but I have 0.06 BTC, and will soon have 0.11. Not much, but it's free, and if BTC really takes off and scales, 0.1 BTC could be worth a million dollars in 10 years. Once I get off newbie, I may sell some old Mac stuff for BTC.
As for butterfly, when I first saw the Jalapeno, it was hard drive sized, and USB bus-powered. Arstechnica got a review unit of the same model and it was 5 times bigger and had to be plugged in. So, what are the people who pre-ordered a year ago going to get?

Yes, I hope as all of us that within 10 years even satoshi is worth of lot of $ € £ or whatever... but meanwhile I wish to get miner that can produce full btc. That should be possible within this year, but need to start asap. Im not worried about electricity. I guess some time next year 50Gh/s miner is quite worthless anyway. So, need it asap and do it job before next gen chips.

I was considering that, but i'm not willing to burn my fingers when soldering tiny chips, so need assebly. if i compare that option to bfl it seems likely as unsure as bfl delivery schedule. 1) need to turst that i get chips from group buy, 2) need to trust that PCB design works 3) need to trust that someone manages put chips on board and deliver diy boards... when? 4) and price for 50GH/s is likely same than BFL single. But still considering also diy, but not much time left...

I pre-ordered a 30GH unit and I'm still holding out. The thing with ASICs are to get them ASAP so you can maximize your potential profit. I know I'm taking a gamble, but who isn't with crypto currency?

NO ordered a year ago and they still delaying Ummm... this is getting complicated, just got newsletter from KnCMiner: They offer: So to recap. Jupiter now comes with: o 350 GH/s. o 28nm Standard Cell ASIC chips. o Shipment in September 2013. o 6995 USD price tag. I know there is own thread for them, but was not taking it seriously yet... maybe I should really wait and see what happens and where.
