IntroductionBlockchain-based systems seem to have passed a threshold for worldwide acceptance by what could be called "traditional" parties. This claim is supported by the staggering amount of funds that have recently been delivered to marketers, researchers, developers, business people (and sometimes fraudsters) through the issuance of on-chain assets to crowdsourced participants. There are also multiple corporate involvements in blockchain-based projects. It is evident that the relatively young field is still very prone to disruption and innovation.
From our experience, a lot of potential users are put off by the relative complexity of understanding and using cryptocurrencies. We want to change that.
Our goal is to create a website that will become an integral and essential part of the cryptosphere. We're in the meme-making business.
The ideaIf you want to trade any on-chain assets, currencies or tokens today you need to either:
- Buy them with fiat through an exchange, providing ID and waiting for approval;
- Mine them using your computer hardware if it is good enough;
- Be given some by a friend;
- Win some in a contest;
- etc.
We are principally concerned with the latter two options. So what do we propose? Our idea is very simple:
Tasty Coins will hold raffles, the details of which are explained in the next section. Users bet on the performance of various blockchain-based assets and the winners are picked on the basis of performance of their chosen assets. Tasty Coins is not a casino. There is no house edge as we do not control market conditions.
We believe this service can be beneficial to the whole cryptocurrency culture by:
Allowing exposure to the cryptocurrency markets without risking to lose one's savings;
- Helping a wider audience get into cryptocurrencies;
- Gameifying what can be a tense and stressful experience (trading on the markets);
- Limiting potential losses to the price of your raffle ticket;
- etc.
The implementationOf course, the devil is in the details.
The name of the project reflects its humorous nature. We have an immense list of ideas that we could bring to life with the help of talented artists, web designers and programmers. Everything revolves around associating food with cryptocurrencies. The possibilities are endless (and hilarious).
We intend to build features to incentivize a strong sense of community. A core part of the service will be its leaderboard and social features. We not only want Tasty Coins to be a fun and engaging game, but a culture defining game. Once again, we are in the meme-making business.
The rafflesWe want to hold daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly raffles. There are plans to hold contests at currently undefined intervals, the details of which will be settled with the help of the community. Users (cooks) participate for a certain amount of TSTY and then make a choice of various coins (ingredients) to prepare a portfolio (meal). The performance (taste) of this portfolio over a fixed timeframe will be measured and compared to that of the other participants. Raffles are held on a rolling basis, and so will overlap each other.
We plan on holding tournaments where various categories of chefs can compete, from the beginner burger flippers to the most elite, Michelin Star decorated chefs.
The distribution algorithmThe secret sauce is our distribution algorithm. We are currently actively testing out various distribution schemes. Our main goals are to:
- Make sure the community feels the distribution is fair;
- Make sure high performers are adequately rewarded;
Achieving this is not as easy as it sounds and efforts have to be expended to design the algorithm. In the end, we need an algorithm with a large parameter space such that each can be tuned to achieve the above goals.
Ze dégustationWe will be holding
une dégustation shortly. Let us entertain you with
hors d'oeuvres and
Champagne. Stay tuned for
ze tasty details.
Children of the meme, let's make this happen.---
