Problem with Privkey: Original Address Has Changed (Bitcoin QT)

Hi, I have got a problem with Bitcoin QT.
The computer's motherboard has broken but the hard drive is intact.
On the new computer I opened a new wallet (Electrum) but I can not transfer my old Bitcoin (Bitcoin QT) to the new address (not knowing the old privkey...on Electrum the old balance figure as "watching only").

The problem is that I can not retrieve the privkey because the address of the old wallet (Bitcoin QT) has changed (maybe after the motherboard breaks with the following old hard disk recovery).

The original address was this: 1NGztBL4gna63pYgLBHJuhMCrV6YsqP3q9 (0.076 BTC)
Now it is: 193KHMcv1FKAuAwnsApa89ziC48TVf7BX7 (obviously balance = 0)

On console debug typing: dumpprivkey 1NGztBL4gna63pYgLBHJuhMCrV6YsqP3q9

I get this message:

Private key for address 1NGztBL4gna63pYgLBHJuhMCrV6YsqP3q9 is not known (code -4)


How can I get to retrieve the privkey?
I think the only way to restore the old address on Bitcoin QT ... or wrong?

So basically you are trying to import your old address from Qt to Electrum, right? What do you mean the address has changes from Qt wallet? And also, wrong board. Technical discussion is the right place for this question.

EDIT: One quick question: have you created a watch-only address in Electrum? You should create a new standard wallet afaik before trying to recover or sweep the privkeys from your qt wallet.

Try your wallet.dat backup if hard disk recovery messed up the wallet.dat file.

I am not an Electrum user, but the first question is about compatibility. I'm not sure Electrum will recognize the wallet.dat file. You may find it easier to install bitcoin CORE (QT is now called core) then send the coins to your Electrum address.
As far as the address changing I think you are misunderstanding something. There is still money at your address:

This is a public key and your wallet can make many of them. I suspect that your "changed" address was just created when you ran electrum for the first time. It may have just ignored the QT wallet file and created a new wallet in it's own format.

Whatever you do DO NOT lose your "wallet.dat" file from QT. With that all can be fixed. Without it there is no hope. I would try installing CORE then spending to electrum.

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\BitCoin

or you might search your hdd for wallet.dat or wallet.backup files

Right, but instead of sending the coins from Bitcoin Core to Electrum (and pay a fee), you can export the private key from Bitcoin Core and then import it to Electrum directly.

then copy your old wallet.dat into the fresh bitcoin core

run bitcoin core.

p.s dont let people PM you asking you to send them your old wallet .dat where they will send funds to your electrums new address for a fee
a few people like achow an lauda have done this in the past to scam people
